Recognized as the best-preserved imperial garden in China, you’ll learn fascinating stories about the dragon lady.
You will be transported back to your centrally located hotel lobby at the end of the tour.
- Ming Tombs (Ming Shishan Ling) - This area is the final resting place for 13 emperors of the Ming dynasty, with the Ding Tomb being the best preserved. You’ll have the opportunity to explore the underground tunnel and view the burial artifacts.

Amazing 36 hours in Beijing with Catherine - Catherine was the best tour guide I’ve met in a very long time. She was happy and helpful all the time and coordinated our time and schedule perfectly. We’ve had an amazing and fun night in the hutongs and central Beijing and an unforgettable full day in summer palace and the Great Wall. I couldn’t recommend her more and I strongly advise anyone that comes to Beijing and need an english speaking tour-guide to contact her.

Wonderful Great Wall Experience!! - Today we visited the Great Wall and Summer Palace with our tour guide Maggie! From a planning perspective, Catherine Lu tours was very easy to work with. We are a group of friends traveling from NYC and had a number of questions and requests based on our own research. They were very friendly and accommodating, and we were able to work up an itinerary that fit our needs perfectly. In terms of our guide, Maggie was wonderful! She was friendly, knowledgeable and shared so much insight on China and Beijing beyond just the sites themselves. We would highly recommend both Catherine Lu Tours and Maggie for anyone looking to get a high quality personalized tour!

Beijing Private Tour - Our guide Angela is so knowledgeable with all the history and stories behind each of the attractions. She is also very patience when answering our questions, and also very accommodating with our changes.
More importantly, Angela knows where to go for delicious local food frequented by locals.
Definitely highly recommended.

Amazing tours in Beijing! - Amazing tour! We had a great experience with Lisa from Catherine Lu.
In two days, she took us to the Forbidden City, The Temple of Heaven, The Great Wall, and Summer Palace.
We learned a lot about China’s history and would definitely recommend her to everyone coming to China.

A Pleasant Stay in Beijing - We went on a 2-day private tour recently with Catherine Lu Tour in Beijing to The Great Wall, The Forbidden City & The of Heaven in late Oct.; and had it free & easy for the remaining 3 days.
We requested for private transport, driver and English-speaking guides who have rich knowledge in ancient history of China. As it is a private tour, we are free to specify timing, places we want to visit, lunches also included for our arrangement with Catherine Lu Tour.

Fabulous day trip - We were a couple travelling with three teenagers. Such an amazing and informative day. Catherine organised everything with precision. It was perfect. Richard our guide spoke fluent English and provided us with lots of information so we could make the most of our day. A great lunch was provided too. A big thank you to Catherine and Richard for a great day. Also thank you to our driver who made us feel very safe.

A day well spent! - We did a day tour with Sonia of Beijing Catherine Lu Tours to the Great Wall (Mutianyu) and the Summer Palace. She had a great personality, was easy to get along with and was obviously well versed in Chinese history, at ease with dates, dynasties and emperors and the associated intriguing stories which brought to life the structures we saw. After asking about our taste preferences, she brought us to a beautiful local restaurant where we were served exactly the kind of dishes we would have ordered if we knew what to order. The food was prepared from the freshest ingredients, the owner’s farm, and so skilfully cooked we enjoyed every mouthful. That lunch is so memorable, I still think of it. Needless to say, Sonia manoeuvred us through the ticket gates, skipping queues, and guiding us directly to the points of interests, so we did not waste time wandering around by trial and error. To top it all, we travelled in a spacious quiet car well driven by a professional driver. There was no forced shopping, unsolicited offers or other unsavoury conduct. The tour was conducted professionally and honestly.

A meaningful and fun experience in Beijing - Jenny with Catherine Lu tours is an amazing host and guide.
We had an incredible time both at the Tiananmen square/ forbidden palace and the Great Wall.
Easy to book and flexible for foreign travelers. Jenny and the other tour guides were also easy to get along with and very knowledgeable about the history and the various sites. I’d recommend this tour group to anyone coming from abroad to China and are looking for a meaningful experience.
