Cuandixia Village contains around 70 courtyard homes, which gently climb the slopes of a mountain, built by a family who migrated from Shanxi province more than 400 years ago. During the Ming and Qing dynasties, the road that led through the mountains to the provinces of Hebei and Shanxi acted as a trade and passageway. Awesome trip! - We had such a great time! It was very relaxing to get out of the city for the day and see how people used to live years ago throughout China. Our guide, Lucy, was extremely knowledgeable and friendly. She made the entire trip feel so inviting! She was very good at explaining, not only the history of the village, but of the surrounding countryside as well! This is an excellent trip to take if you’re searching for a trip that takes you away from the hustle and bustle of the big city! Thank you Lucy for making our trip so great! We really enjoyed our time with you! Thank you for showing us more of the history of China and answering the millions of questions we had!

Awesome One Day Trip To Historical Village With Great Guide! - My family greatly enjoyed day trip to Cuandixia Village! Linda is the rare tour guide: personable, caring, knowledgeable, patient and flexible. I can't thank Linda enough for taking care of my elderly mother, walking with her hand in hand, to see the village sights, explaining all the interesting facts about the village. We also enjoyed a delicious lunch, eating local foods from the village region. Linda was flexible to customize our food interests and sights to see. it was a perfect day to tour Cuandixia Village: blue skies, temperate weather, no crowds. I look forward to coming back to Beijing and booking another tour with Linda!

A perfect Old Chinese village experience... with a mountain backdrop!! - I had chosen this more as an experiment as well as to get away from the cliched and standard Beijing attractions... turned out to be a fantastic decision and an awesome way to start the Beijing experience... 50kms outside Beijing! A very well maintained village of 600 years history, with a lovely climate, CLEAN AIR as well as lovely people. What made the experience really worthwhile was Lucy our guide. She completely changed my so far blindfolded perception of Chinese people... very warm, friendly, knowledgeable, energetic & above all, a wonderful human being. She ensured that we had probably one of the best tour amongst all others in the village. I shall strongly recommend Lucy if you are looking at a truly wonderful and informative tour in and around Beijing!!🙏👍🙌

A good option for a second visit to Beijing - We chose this tour to give us a broader view of Beijing since we had seen the main sights on a previous trip. It was a worthwhile and enjoyable day. Becky was our guide. She was warm, informative, and fun. Her English was quite good and we really enjoyed being able to ask all sorts of questions of our own private guide while we traveled to and from the village. She willingly answered all our questions. The village was charming and primitive compared to urban China, definitely off the beaten path. There is some uphill walking but overall it was not that strenuous. Our meal was was in one of the houses there and it was delicious. Our thanks to Becky for making this a memorable day.

WOW!!!! Such a perfect day in every... -
WOW!!!! Such a perfect day in every way!!! We were picked up by the most adorable Lisa for our trip to Cuandixia. We hit it off with her from the beginning and knew we would have a fun time with her. The drive to the village was about 2.5 hours but was such a nice change going in to the mountains. It was clear and blue and so different than being in Beijing. Beautiful change of scenery! We walked through the charming village with Lisa and were able to look inside the homes for a first hand view of how people there live. We met many of the locals and they all wanted us to join them for lunch. So sweet and warm and welcoming! Just wonderful people! We finally joined a family for lunch and they made anything in the US billed as Farm to Table seem silly!!! They literally picked the vegetables from their gardensand the other delicacies we as fresh as can be and prepared and delivered them to our table. The food just kept coming. And it was some of the best we have ever eaten!!! Such an amazing experience and getting to share it with Lisa and our driver Mr. Yung was an added treat. We ate and ate and played silly games with bottle caps with Lisa. Mr Yung disappeared for a minute and brought me back Buddha praying hands carved by a local artisan. I will cherish his gift forever!
This was our last day in Beijing and to say we said goodbye in the most memorable way is an understatement. Lisa is amazing and we would highly recommend her and the kind Mr.Yung to everyone. It will be a day we will remember forever!
