• Juyongguan Great Wall - Assuming the roads are clear, it should take approximately 1.5 hours to reach the Juyongguan section of the Great Wall, which is 37 miles (60 kilometers) from central Beijing and the closest segment to the city. Juyong Pass is famed as one of the three most formidable passes of the Great Wall (the others being Jiayuguan Pass and Shanhaiguan Pass). In addition to the historic wall, you can explore numerous ancient structures, such as towers and temples. The western side features steep stairs, while the eastern side offers a more gentle ascent, catering to both the adventurous and those less inclined to strenuous activity.
• Summer Palace (Yiheyuan) - The journey from the Great Wall to the Summer Palace takes about an hour. The Summer Palace is the most extensive and best-preserved imperial garden in China, exerting a significant influence on Chinese landscaping and garden design.
