The Yungang Grottoes are ancient Chinese Buddhist temple grottoes located near Datong city in Shanxi province. They are outstanding examples of rock-cut architecture and are among the three most renowned ancient Buddhist sculptural sites in China.

The Wooden Pagoda in Yingxian County stands at 67.31 meters tall. It is the only remaining large wooden pagoda in China and the tallest among ancient wooden structures worldwide.

The Hanging Temple is a temple built into a cliff, 75 meters (246 feet) above the ground, near Mount Heng in Hunyuan County, Datong City, Shanxi province, China. The nearest city is Datong, 64.23 kilometers to the northwest. Alongside the Yungang Grottoes, the Hanging Temple is a major tourist attraction and historical site in the Datong area. Constructed over 1,500 years ago, this temple is remarkable not only for its location on a steep cliff but also because it is the only existing temple that combines the three traditional Chinese religions: Buddhism, Taoism, and Confucianism.
