Highlights
  • Belfast - Pass through the Peacewalls into the Republican areas of Bombay Street, where houses were burned out in 1969, marking the start of The Troubles.
  • Crumlin Road Gaol - The Crumlin Road courthouse faces the gaol, with a tunnel running beneath the main road. Sentences were given here before transferring prisoners to the H blocks or Maze prison.
  • Crumlin Road Gaol - This Victorian jail, built in the 1800s, was a hanging jail until the 1960s. It housed IRA, UVF, and UFF prisoners on remand.
  • Peacewall Taxi Tours - Belfast’s own version of the Berlin Wall, these walls are ten times higher and stretch across the city, dividing loyalist and Republican communities for over 50 years. Sign your name alongside those of presidents and film stars with messages of peace.
  • Shankill Road - With over 500 years of history, this is the birthplace of loyalism, from the UVF to the UFF and UDA. View the bonfire sites in July and learn about the loyalist struggle against Republicans. Take photos with murals that adorn the gable walls of local homes.
  • Clonard Monastery - Built in the 1800s, this is where secret peace talks took place between Gerry Adams and John Hume. It was later discovered that MI5 had bugged the talks.
  • International Mural Wall Divis Street - This famous international wall is hand-painted by local Republicans, depicting conflicts or showing support for causes like the Amazon rainforest.
  • Falls Road - The birthplace of the Provisional Irish Republican Army. If you’ve seen news footage of The Troubles, it’s likely from Falls Road.
  • Falls Road - Home to the world-famous Bobby Sands mural. Learn about the 1981 hunger strike that led to the 1994 truce.

Amazing & Emotional Experience - I did the Black Cab Tour with my Mom - and what can I say not only was it an interesting, politically & historically relevant tour our guide (Tony) was extremely professional and sympathetic! I will not therefore not forget this tour and the stories of the people 🇮🇪- Can only recommend this tour!

Unacceptable Black Cab Tour - Our 3-person max Black Cab tour, started in a huge blue “taix” that rattled so loud we could not hear the driver. Our guide/driver was very knowledgeable and stopped at all the advertised spots, but he had an accent very difficult to understand and spoke so fast we missed most of the history he was explaining. Picture shows the cab we expected and the blue one we got!. I would like my money back!
