A must for political, cultural and social heads - If you do one thing in Belfast, make it this political taxi tour – and if you can, ask for Alan. We spent time with Alan on Saturday 22nd February first thing in the morning. His knowledge is absolutely first-class, but what set this tour apart was his objectivity and balance in explaining the history of ‘The Troubles’. As we navigated both Loyalist and Republican areas, passing murals, memorials, and key locations, Alan told the story of Belfast’s past with complete fairness and without bias. He laid out the facts, the emotions, and the consequences from all sides, allowing us to form our understanding of an incredibly complex and sensitive history. He answered every question with honesty, welcomed general discussion, and gave us real insight into the legacy that still shapes the city today. One hour simply wasn’t enough with Alan – we could have listened to him for hours! This wasn’t just a tour – it was a powerful and thought-provoking experience that stayed with us long after we left. Without a doubt, the highlight of our trip to Belfast. Thank you, Alan, for an unforgettable journey.

Take this tour! - One of the the first things we did in Belfast. Our guide, Tony did a fantastic job of laying out the long history that led to the unfortunate events of the last part of the 20th century. He was very knowledgeable of the long history as well as willing to share his own experiences growing up and raising a family in Belfast. Highly recommend!

Political history in an hour - This was a fascinating, informative tour. We have general knowledge of the topics covered and it was great to see the locations in person. Michael did a great job of succinctly telling the history behind why each stop was on the tour.

Very sad - We really enjoyed this it was very informative and also sad at the same time. So much loss on both sides. Our guide Martin was a lovely man and very knowledgeable. The murals around the different areas are amazing. I would advise anyone to do this when visiting.

Engaging and informative, would highly recommend - A really interesting tour learning about the troubles through the eyes of someone who lived through them. Our guide, Darren, was extremely engaging and informative. He was also very careful to only mention more detailed violence references when our daughter was out of earshot, for which we were grateful. I'd highly recommend this tour to anyone wanting to learn about the history of belfast and its people.

Highly recommended - Visited Belfast for a long weekend and booked the Belfast Political Taxi Tour on the Sunday. As there was nine of us, we were split into two vehicles driven by Tony and Pat. A fascinating insight delivered by people who experienced first hand the tumultuous times of ‘The Troubles’. A particular shout-out to my driver, Tony, whose hope and optimism shone through.
