A must do in Belfast if you love history!! - Great Tour! Very informative tour guides who walked us through two different views of The Troubles. My only feedback is to try an improve the audio. Depending on where you were standing relative to the tour guide it was at times difficult to hear them.

Learned a LOT - Very interesting and informative. The walk was at an easy pace. The speakers on both sides of the ball we’re engaging, but I must say the Catholic was the most entertaining

Must Do - The 2nd time that I've done this tour. You get two completely different perspectives. More than likely you will get someone who directly participated in the conflict. My Republican guide was Paul Hamilton who for years was the driver/bodyguard of IRA and Sinn Fein leader Gerry Adams. On the loyalist side, Mark who served for the British army. Both men grew up in Belfast and were both uprooted from their childhood neighborhoods because their homes were fire bombed in 1969. Please understand that both of these men still have vivid memories and horrors that they experienced as younger men. You will see that the West Belfast neighborhood that is walked through is still divided along a so-called Peace Line where the gates close at 7:00 to keep the two communities separate. Two separate communities who simply do not mix in any manner. Keep in mind that Belfast has become a booming city, safe, with lots to offer. It is just some neighborhoods that have not moved on emotionally since the 1998 Good Friday Agreement. Very thought provoking and this tour has affected me deeply. For any political/geopolitical junkie, this tour is a must!

An Absolute Must Do. - This tour is so amazing. It was my second time taking it! A walking tour through the heart of West Belfast where aspects of the Troubles. Both guides were personally affected by the conflict. The first guide, Paul was an ex IRA member, most specifically Gerry Adam's personal driver and bodyguard. He served 7 years in prison as now works as a reconciliation counselor. Mark, who spent 25+ years with the British military, led us on the loyalist side. While both men had completely different viewpoints, anger and perspectives they both had the same point, that the way forward is through peace and reconciliation. People who take this tour have to understand that this tour is emotionally hard and gritty and that the respective guides are not going to be on the same page. Thats the way it should be - Conflicting Stories.

This tour is a MUST !! - Wow ! This tour will challenge what you think you know of the troubles. It’s 18 hours later and I’m still trying to process some of what I’ve heard. Paul and Mark were both amazing tour guides and really made me thinking what I thought I knew.

A valuable view of the Troubles form both sides - The two somewhat conflicting views provided a contrast in the positions of the two sides of the political spectrum. It was also valuable to also get an opinion on the current situation which both individuals provided. A very powerful story of a situation that still resides in the memory.

Fascinating but needs better audio - The tour was fascinating but I really wish they gave us headsets so we could hear the guides better. The streets were pretty loud and drowned out a lot of what was said.

Conflicting histories tour - I would definitely recommend this tour. The tour guides were very knowledgeable & engaging, the difference in perspective is however pretty stark & progress in bringing the communities together seems to be a long way off. It left me wanting to learn more about the conflict & I think anyone visiting Belfast should go on this tour.

Interesting - Interesting information but it's a shame we struggle to hear them over noise & traffic, should have head sets or microphone. Offer of a toilet stop half way would have been good.
