Join us to find out more about a brand born in Belfast in 1776, that is now being restored globally. You’ll learn about the distilling process and of course, taste some of our distillery’s award-winning Irish whiskies along the way.
Our distillery also offers visitors a fantastic shop to pick up gifts, an all-day café, plus a fully licensed bar to enjoy after the tour.
Signature Activity: Observe the process of making triple-distilled, single malt Irish whiskey and of course, sample some of our award-winning whiskies along the way. Activity includes a welcome drink, McConnell’s 5 Year, McConnell’s Sherry Cask and some ‘new make’, straight off the stills.

Highlight of our trip to Belfast - Excellent tour of McConnell Distillery by our guide Sam, who was clearly passionate about the company, and very entertaining. Housed in the unusual and historic setting of A wing of the Crumlin Rd gaol, which added to the whole experience. Beautiful whisky with fascinating history. Finished off with some beautiful cocktails in their bar. Thoroughly recommended and a highlight of our trip to Belfast.

Great tour of an amazing distillery animated by fantastic guide - We had a great visit of the distillery, followed by a cocktail making session.
Our guide, Sam, made the tour so lively and interesting.
She managed to recreate the magic of the McConnell whiskey history through the ages with so much passion. The making of the special cocktail was also an amazing experience.

A great time even if you’re not a whisky aficionado. - The tour was very informative and educational. I’m not a whisky aficionado by any means, yet I really enjoyed my time at McConnell’s. Our tour guide Sam was excellent and her passion was refreshing and awesome to experience.

Deadly distillery tour! - Brilliant tour with Kieran, would highly recommend if you’re in Belfast! Great if you’re into whiskey or have never tried it before.

Touring the prison turned distillery - We had a great tour with Kieran who was very friendly and led us through the history and tastings. We were familiar with the whisky prior to the tour but it was great to see the historical link to the prison and see how they have preserved the history while incorporating the distillery revival. Definitely recommend the tour and their others!

A brilliant tour of a great distillery - The tour was a fascinating insight about the history and the process of making McConnells. Kieran was an amazing tour guide, who gave a brilliant insightful tour of the distillery and we will definitely return.

A huge and gratifying surprise - Visiting family in Northern Ireland (from Florida). We had decided to visit Crumlin Gaol since they haven’t been there. We parked outside the distillery and decided to go in for a coffee and tea before visiting the jail. This was a big surprise. The renovations done to the A Wing to host the distillery was some of the most beautiful work I’ve seen in a long time. We were visiting on a Monday, so no tours were being given, but Finn, the team leader said she had time and would be glad to give us the tour. She was very gracious and her knowledge was outstanding. It was really nice for her to put on a tour for only the four of us. If you go, you have to take the tour! It was a great experience, and I will be returning every time I return to visit family.

Fantastic. Thanks Samantha. - Forget the gaol next door, come here. Absolutely brilliant experience. Samantha is great, so passionate about her job, she has so much knowledge not only about her job but the local area as well. Could have spent all day listening to her. Taster experience was fantastic. You will see more of the gaol doing this tour than doing the gaol tour.

First class tour at the Distillery - We had a fantastic tour and cocktail making evening at the Distillery this week. It was amazing to see how this building has been repurposed and given a new lease of life! The finish is first class and they have thought of everything to create a truly wonderful visitor experience. The original features have been retained and enhanced. From the minute you walk through the door into the retail and cafe bar area, you are in awe! So much to see and so much to buy in the shop.
Our tour guide, Sam really made the evening for us. She was full of knowledge and stories to make it a really interesting tour. It was very interactive. We had a lot of craic and did a lot of tasting!!
Conor and Conor who hosted our cocktail making session were brilliant as well. They made us all feel very at home and made sure we made decent espresso martinis!
Thank you to all of the team at the Distillery, it is a wonderful addition to Belfast and it’s fantastic to see a legendary brand reborn.
