Great way to learn some history! - Great tour! So many interesting facts about the Troubles. The stories from both side of the walls were heartbreaking but important to hear. My guide was the brother of the Bobby Sands mural artist!

Connecting Then and Now - Our guide, Stevie, was very knowledgeable, very welcoming, engaging, and personable. He was genuine. He would say that he is just himself. He presented a lot of information; his presentation was aided by historical pictures in a pamphlet, murals themselves, and his own personal experiences of growing up during conflict. He took time to answer our questions. I cannot imagine what it must have been like to be a teen during a time of unpredictable and devastating violence. I do know that what was birthed from this diverse, collective memory - a host of compelling and compassionate storytellers. Visiting Belfast was important to me to do, and as an African American who is invested in highlighting people's agency and empowerment in my own scholarship, this tour was exceptionally meaningful and touching. Belfast's complex history is ... inspirational. A visitor has to do this tour to get a visceral sense of how history matters; tangible artifacts are powerful. The guides' stories help visitors to understand politics of today a little better as well as demonstrate how a communal desire for social justice and forgiveness can unfold over time and generations. It's a privilege that should be done during your visit to this beautiful land and vibrant (and humorous) people.

Most Authentic Retelling of the Troubles - This is the second time I did this tour. The first time, I was so blown away I knew that if I came back with my husband he would love it and he did. Joseph was no-nonsense and matter-of-fact about the times of the "troubles" of which he lived. He shared his experiences and brought us to a local museum which depicted life during that time.

Humbling and Informative - Extremely moving and informative tour! We were so happy we took the time to learn the history of the Troubles. To hear firsthand accounts really drove home the terror that this period must have been like to live through.

Essential booking for a trip to Belfast - The political and mural black taxi tour was a highlight of my recent trip to Belfast. It was a great way to see these significant locations in the city and gain an understanding of the local dynamics at play. I definitely learned a lot from my informative and friendly guide. The price was good value and I would certainly recommend this tour to anyone planning a trip to Belfast.

Invaluable insight into the recent history of Northern Iteland - Definitely the highlight of our visit to Belfast. Fantastic service. Booked last minute but still quick response. Our guide Sean was excellent and extremely informative. We took in the murals around the Falls Road and Shankill Estate, Peace Walls and other notable sites relating to the Troubles. Sean’s knowledge was invaluable, plus he C provided some very useful further reading recommendations. Wouldn’t hesitate to recommend to anyone visiting the city.

A Memorable Experience - The black taxi tour (Political and Mural Tour) was a highlight of our trip to Belfast. Our guide, Anto, was very open about his experiences growing up in Belfast, and was very generous with his time. Thanks to him, we have a much better understanding of recent history and the current situation. We can not recommend this tour enough!

This was very illuminating, packed full of information - Coming from the U.S., we had limited information about The Troubles. This tour was incredibly informative and made it very easy to see the sites and the murals, etc. Our driver was very well informed about the history, reasons for why things happened, etc. Did not express an opinion about which side was right or wrong, etc., just stuck to the facts. Do not come to Belfast and fail to go on one of these tours. Our driver was very knowledgeable, very approaching and really engaging. It’s a tough topic that he handled with grace, knowledge and empathy. You may be able to find some of these stops on your own, but you would really be cheating yourself out of a great experience. You just hop out and learn about the site, then jump back in and take off the first next one – super convenient. Very illuminating tour about a very difficult time in the city’s history.
