This tour is designed to offer a blend of city and nature experiences. Participants will explore all the significant historical sites in Belgrade and also visit Avala Mountain, a must-see attraction just outside the city.

The guide will meet participants at the airport. The journey to the first stop, Belgrade Fortress, will take approximately half an hour. This location provides an excellent introduction to Serbian history and heritage. Situated at the confluence of the Sava and Danube rivers, Belgrade is rich with stories that will be shared during the tour. The walk continues through Kalemegdan Park, the city’s most visited park.

Adjacent to the park is the main pedestrian zone and Republic Square. To experience local culture, it is recommended to take a break and enjoy domestic coffee at the city’s oldest restaurant, “?”. For those feeling hungry, trying some local specialties is suggested. After the break, the tour proceeds through Prince Michael Street, the main shopping street lined with boutiques and souvenir shops. Participants will pass by Republic Square, where a monument dedicated to the liberator of Serbia stands proudly.

Driving along one of the main streets, where many government institutions are located, the tour reaches the Temple of St. Sava, the fifth largest Orthodox Church in the world. Learning about medieval history will highlight the church’s significance to the Serbian people.

Next, a half-hour drive leads to Avala Mountain, a popular weekend escape for Belgraders. Be prepared for a short climb, as a few stairs must be ascended to reach the monument. The effort is worthwhile! The next stop is Avala Tower, where participants can enjoy a drink while taking in the breathtaking views of Belgrade and Serbia.

On the return journey, the tour visits Zemun, a charming and historic part of the city known for its narrow cobblestone streets and 18th and 19th-century houses.

Participants will be returned to the airport (or hotel) in time for their next flight.
