Great views and great food - It is pretty much a full day experience, quite far away from Belgrade so prepare to spend some time in a comfy van. Despite the lengthy drive, time flew by fast thanks to the great stories and interesting facts shared by our awesome guide. The fortress and surrounding area is a sight to see and if you are interested in history your mind will be blown. The river cruise is also beautiful and very interesting, showing a different way to appreciate the Danube. I'd highly recommend taking the optional lunch as well, food is something to talk about for days afterwards.

I loved Golubac Fortress, and the tour was very well organised - This was my second tour with the same tour company. The tour was very well organised and our tour guide, Milica, was lovely, knowledgeable and helpful. It was quite a long drive for only 2 stops (plus the restaurant) but it was worth it as the Golubac Fortress is an unmissable place when visiting Serbia. The lunch was in a very beautiful restaurant run by a family, and it really felt like my grandma had cooked for me! The food was excellent (probably a bit more expensive than the average, RSD 1,700 + 200 for a fanta) and there was a wide selection to choose from. Also the communication with the tour company was great, they gave precise details about the pick up point which was only 2 minutes away from my hotel. We were given enough time to visit each attraction, and were back to Belgrade at about 6.30pm.

Golubac Fortress day trip - Our tour guide Isadore was very knowledgeable and was extremely fluent in the English language. She did a great job of telling us the important pieces of history and also answered our questions very well. The food for lunch with an authentic family restaurant was excellent.

Fun day out. - The fortress is a really interesting place to go and explore. The archaeology site is amazing and full of so much history. The site for lunch is so cool. It has a great viewpoint, lots of artwork to view and the food is delicious.

Informative tour and experience - This was an excellent tour. The guide was very informative providing not only the historical context to the sites we visited but answering numerous questions related to the recent history of Serbia and the region. I highly recommend this tour.

Long Tour. We Expected More. - This day trip from Belgrade is much longer than it needs to be, but Serbia doesn't have many tourist sites so this is one of the main options. Our pick time was changed three times and we departed 30 minutes earlier than expected. After a couple hours you arrive at the Golubac Fortress which is nice, albeit completely rebuilt. The next stop is Lepenski Vir which is the site of a prehistoric civilization. It was interesting but could be seen in 30 minutes. They schedule lunch as the last stop which is at 2:30. Be aware of this as it was quite late for many of us. You eat at a couple's house and they charge approximately $20/person. They only accept cash and do not provide change. It was supposed to be a buffet but they said they had no time so they plated our food. If you have any dietary restrictions-good luck. Those who did simply didn't eat. We left lunch at 3:30 for the 2.5 hour trip back to Belgrade. It made for a long day to see two fairly uninteresting sites. The guide providing very little information and sat listening to heavy metal music on his phone the entire ride home. I'm glad we did this tour because there are so few options but can't say I would recommend it.

want to take a boat ride? Good. Want to have a tour as advertised? Go elsewhere. - The only reason this gets more than one star is the guide Marco, who is friendly, knowledgeable, and a good fellow. We booked the trip because we wanted to see the famous neolithic remains at Lepenski Vir, of which the Tour writes "learn about ancient history at the Lepenski Vir Museum" . WE DIDN'T VISIT THE MUSEUM!!! Instead, we saw Golubac (good for 40 minutes, by which time we were all tired of it, but Marco waited for another 20 minutes - why?) then went on an unadvertised boat ride on the Danube. Utterly boring, trash in the water, a large carved stone head, signal towers not now in use, the Romanian side with a cave. After ten minutes, everyone's face was long. Hopes for LV were high. But it was now nearly 3:00, we had not been fed, so completely ignoring the museum, off we went to, at nearly 4:00, arrive at a hotel on top of a mountain where you were overcharged for an early dinner of country food. We arrived back in Belgrade at 7:40, over an hour after the tour operator promised we would be back. Finally, the van was dirty, its windows so begrimed that the driver spent considerable effort trying to clean them at our first stop. Some could not be cleaned. Why? Because the seal between the inner and outer panel of the double panes had been compromised. One could barely see out. Quite fitting, perhaps, for a tour of such lousy quality. Again, the guide did what he could. But the entire day was poorly constructed, and NOT WHAT WAS ADVERTISED. Even, for instance, the come on that we were going to "sample traditional products" that didn't happen either, except or unless you mean what's available at one of the gas station breaks.
