Highlights
  • Belgrade - The tour begins at 8 a.m. from your accommodation in Belgrade.
  • Manasija Monastery - Enjoy a scenic 1.5-hour drive to our first stop, Manasija Monastery, nestled among the green hills of the vibrant Resava gorge. Built in the early 15th century during the reign of Despot Stefan Lazarevic, the complex is encircled by 12 towers designed to protect the Church of Saint Trinity from the Ottomans. The Manasija monastery fortification, with its walls and towers, is the best-preserved fortification complex in medieval Serbia. The monastery’s frescoes are considered one of the greatest achievements of medieval Serbian art, making it a true gem of Serbian medieval culture.
  • Resavska Cave - The tour continues to the 80-million-year-old Resava Cave, discovered by a local shepherd in 1962 and opened to the public ten years later. Today, it is one of the most visited caves in this part of Europe, known for its rich cave formations like stalagmites and stalactites. The tunnels stretch for 4.5 km, with over 2 km explored and 800 m accessible to visitors. The cave maintains a constant temperature of 7°C year-round, with air humidity between 80 and 100%. The cave tour lasts 40 minutes, so warm clothing is recommended.
  • Vodopad Veliki Buk - Next, we head to Lisine waterfall, one of Eastern Serbia’s top attractions. Here, in this stunning location, we will take a lunch break, offering you the chance to try the best trout fish in Serbia.
  • Krupajsko Vrelo - Our journey continues to Krupaj Spring, located 30 km from Lisine Waterfall on the west side of Beljanica Mountain. This karst spring is one of the most beautiful in Eastern Europe, with its turquoise waters sure to leave you breathless.
  • Belgrade - We then drive back to Belgrade (2 hours) and drop you off at your accommodation.

Best Serbian Tour - Great tour! Our guide (Nina) and driver (Ranko) were both very professional and fun! The drive was smooth and relaxed, the tour was very informative and Nina went at the groups pace. No one felt rushed, left out or excluded. This was our favorite Serbia tour and in our top 5 for our world travels to date. Thank you Nina and Ranko!

Beautiful Serbia - We had an amazing day during this excursion. Milan drove us everywhere safely and Miroslav was a fantastic guide who could tell you everything about the locations and Serbia in general. Each location was beautiful and we had enough time to explore them before going to the next one. I would highly recommend taking this excursion!

Jewels from Eastern Serbia - our recommendation - The tour was very well organized and with Miroslav we had a very competent guide who made the day an unforgettable experience for us. A big thank you also to the driver Milan! A special highlight of the tour was the visit to a very good Serbian restaurant in the afternoon. The food was delicious and inexpensive. We would love to come back, we liked the mix of cultural heritage and nature. ... and we met nice people from Switzerland, the Netherlands and England... A&O

Fantastic tour with fantastic tour leader - The tour was well organised and the places visited were really great. However what made this tour fantastic was the tour leader Jelena who, besides being so knowledgeable, was really bubbly and fun and her joy de vivre really rubbed on all members of the group. Also as a pleasant addition the driver Milan was also very nice and helpful.

It's worth the time to visit these gems near Belgrade. - The driver (Milan) and guide (Miroslav) were very friendly and informative. Miroslav answered all of the questions asked and provided more than enough time at most locations - thank you very much. This tour is definitely for the nature lovers - although the Lisine waterfall is small in comparison to Niagara and Iguazu, the scenery nearby is nice and its pool looks wonderful (unfortunately, you are not permitted to swim in it). The Revaska cave is beautiful (many people do need to wear long pants and a jumper as it is approx 10 oC) and has many different limestone structures. The Krupac springs do have a pool but our tour guide did not provide any time to go for a swim. The Manasija Monastery may not be as big or have wonderful nearby scenery as the Golubac monastery but it is still worth visiting.
