Experience God’s Amazing Creation - What a great experience! Frederick was a fantastic guide. Definitely experienced more with this tour than if we had booked through the cruise ship.

Must do excursion!! - We loved this! They picked you up from the port, yes you have to walk out and down the road, but not hard to find. Our guide was amazing! He had the most hilarious sense of humor. We cracked up all day long! I’m kicking myself cause by the time I’m reviewing this I can’t remember his name. The hike through the jungle and the 2 river crossings were super fun. Added to the whole experience. I loved the kayaking portion. The caves are beautiful! When you come out of the caves the open river part is so pretty too! You have the option to purchase lunch and we did. Delicious! Red beans and rice with chicken! They drop you off back at the port in plenty of time to get back on the ship!

What an absolutely fun and educational time!!! - We had such a blast on this excursion. Our guides Fabulous and Fred are obviously very proud of their country and spent the hour drive to the caves filling us in one everything from history to economy to wildlife. The Kayaking was not extremely difficult but you will still get a bit of a workout. Do be ready for a 30 minute hike including some river crossings to the starting point of the adventure, but again, our guides were teaching us about the local wildlife all along the way. Do wear watershoes or some sort of sandal that has a back strap on them (or you can rent some Crocs for $3). I would also suggest bug spray and a waterproof camera. The bugs aren't bad but I'm the type any mosquito for 10 miles will find me. We will definitely be doing this again! One note as we usually travel with our younger children is that I would not chose this until they were maybe 12 or so in age as the hike may be a bit much as well as the paddling.

Excellent! Fun & Educational! Highly recommend! - Abner was a wonderful kayaking guide for the tour through the caves! He knows them like the back of his hand. My husband & I chose a tandem kayak & it was great. He led us through the wide, well-kept road through the jungle that took about 35 minutes to get to the caves. Abner stopped along the way to show us specific trees & plants & how they grow and reproduce. He’s very well-versed in the jungle and the area. See pics on this website. They look like the ones we took. On the ride there, Feválius Castillo told us SO much about the history of Belize, the flora/fauna & covered many, many topics of interest. He’s a wealth of information! He was funny & entertaining & made the hour in the van fly by. So knowledgeable! Both guides were top notch. Highly recommended!

Super fun kayak trip! We... - Super fun kayak trip! We saw bats, had a chance to get out and swim in the cave, and did a few small rapids on the way back down river. Lunch wasn't included but there was an option to buy lunch at the end which we took advantage of. Our guide Abner shared interesting facts about the jungle on the walk to the start of the kayaking, and guided us through the cave and river. Would recommend!

Kayak Excitement - What a fabulous tour! Walking through an untouched jungle/forrest and then kayaking through the caves with only the light on our helmets to see was truly a once in a lifetime experience. One of the three Abner’s on the bus regaled us with the history and culture of Belize. My only complaint are these: first, there was a lot of waiting around before we got started, and then we were one of the last tenders back to the ship. Second, the reminder emails about where to meet should have also mentioned recommended footwear, towels, and water proof camera bags. Most of us signed up months ago and forgot about those details. We did save some money booking independently instead of through the cruise ship. Highly recommend this adventure—choose being independent in kayaks rather than being tied up to a bunch of other inner tubers.

Cave Kayaking was so FUN! - This was such a cool experience! We took an hour ride into Belize. Our guide, Sharon, spent this time telling us all about Belize. We feel like we got to see the "real" Belize. Then we hiked about 30-40 minutes through the jungle. Our guide, Fab, told us all about the plants and animals along the way. We even saw and heard a howler monkey! Walking through the jungle was such a cool experience. Make sure that your waterproof shoes will stay on your feet. You have to walk across a river 3 times during the hike. The kayaking itself was about 90 mins. There were lots of groups tubing at the same time. However, if your group is able-bodied and looking for some adventure, you should do the kayaking for sure. There were single and double kayaks. We went in and out of caves. We stopped to swim and rock jump at one point which was fun. Two kayaks from our group flipped during this excursion, but the river is fairly shallow and the guides got everyone back on track. Don't do this excursion if you have little kids or thr elderly, but DO do it if you are able. It was amazing!

Best way to see the caves - If you ride the water on an innertube, you can only go downstream. With kayaking, you can head upstream first, then reverse course. However, it can be hard work, and the current can be very strong in some places. The caves are literally cool and would be dark if not for the lights on your helmets. The guide was terrific.
