Neat location, best for kids I think - The cave system is impressive and it is great to get out of the sun for a while (part of the tour is on the open river). I basically had a private tour, so that made it even better.

Hire Dennis, best tour ever! - Dennis and his friend at the caves (young local, his name is slipping me, so hard working) were both incredible! Words can't explain how amazing our experience was for this tour. I highly suggest you hire a private car if you can and get Dennis to yourself. The wealth of knowledge he has about the island and its history is truly incredible. The caves are magical and worth the drive. I also recommend you buy some Belizean cooked food. YUMMY. I would do the exact tour all over again just because the tour guides were that great. My husband and I told several friends to visit Belize and find Dennis. Whenever we make it back to Belize, Dennis is the first person we will call.

A very cool experience and great guide! - My husband and I went Cave Tubing on a recent trip to Belize City. Our guide was named Cairo Elliott (+501-633-3891). He was awesome! He picked us up at our hotel, and made sure to point out places of interest and history of Belize along the hour drive to our destination. He is super-knowledgeable, and friendly. It is obvious that Cairo loves his job. The cave tubing experience was so fun and a very cool experience, seeing the stalactites, stalagmites, and the beautiful crystal columns, sparking in the light of the headlights on your helmet. After exiting the caves, the float down the river was so relaxing and scenic—we didn’t want it to end! Cairo was great about recommending restaurants near our hotel, too, which we enjoyed. If we hadn’t been leaving the next day, we would have tried to book another excursion with Cairo. It’s like getting together with a friend. If your travels bring you to Belize City, we highly recommend both the Cave Tubing excursion, and the tour guide services of Cairo Elliott!

A tour to remember - Without having booked an excursion before our port-of-call, we happened upon a tour of tubing through a cave that was conducted Belize Carribean Tours on short notice. It turned out great. Even though the time was very short before we were due on the last tender back to the ship, our guides went all out to ensure that we got to experience the best parts of the tours.ennis A Hislop was our very informative guide. He filled us in on myriad cultural, economic, environmental, and political insights in the island nation. And he drove us safely for an hour an 15 each way to and from Belize City, managing the ticket purchases and providing all the equipment. And he watched our possessions safely in his van after he put us in the good hands of our river guide, Fernando. There was much more walking to do than expected, but it was through a spectacular jungle on good, well-cleared roads. We had to wade through the creek a few times, but Fernando kept us on our tight schedule. Since the river was slow, he sped things up by tying together our four tubes and pulling and paddling us through quickly. He was very strong and safety conscious. The effort of getting there was well worth it. The float through the long cave was extraordinary and unforgettable. And we saved money by not booking the trip through the cruise line.

Wonderful Experience - While on a cruise and a stop in Belize, my daughter found us this cave tubing tour. After all the formalities, we were introduced to Dennis Hislop, our van driver and tour guide. Dennis had arranged for his friend and fellow tour guide, "Big" or aka Amir. Because the wife and I are somewhat disabled, they helped us along the whole trip. Dennis also gave us a tour of two parts of Belize city including pointing out where his grandpa lived. The whole cave tubing float was fantastic and the water was refreshing. If ever we get back to Belize, I will surely be looking up Dennis and Belize Caribbean Tours again! Thank you Dennis and Amir !! You both made our Belize experience "unBELIZABLE" !! :)

Fun day cave tubing - Our tour guide, Dennis, took very good care of us. His commentary about Belize City and the surrounding area was very interesting and informative. He was patient with the senior citizens in our group. He insured we were safe in the water. We had such a fun time with Dennis.

Awesome day - cave tubing was great and they were completely reliable. - We booked this tour on a day trip from a cruise ship when we walked ashore, so timing was very important. The price was good (you can haggle a bit). The tour itself was amazing - loved walking through the Belize jungle, and then cave tubing down the pristine waters. Floyd, our guide, was informative and entertaining. The tour van was air conditioned and OK, but broke down on route (about an hour each way). Floyd kept us entertained while we awaited the replacement van, and he kept us assured the timings were going to be fine (which they were). We loved the cave tubing and Floyd works his butt off (you'll also learn the importance of butts and nuts up). This tour was great, well priced and well worth doing. The company was very reassuring regarding ship timing and even said they would organise a hotel and repatriate us with the ship if there was a problem (thankfully we did not need to test this)!! Best suggestion, make sure you take appropriate footwear for walking through a jungle and good for getting wet (they will hire you water shoes for US$3). They take no photos so make sure you have a water proof camera or buy a water proof case for your phone.

BEAUTIFUL but understand what you are getting into - Ok so we did not book any excursions with Carnival on our 7 day cruise (they get enough of our $). Belize 2nd stop. we got off and began walking. Walked past several tour companies and then saw picture of Mayan ruins on this tour companies. I was interested but they said we did not have enough time in port. Guy told us cave tubing was the best and bus was about to leave. "discounted $55 each because the bus was about to leave" (yeah ok maybe). I asked how long to get there and was told 45 min (LIES). We were packed on us a bus with some cool people with our cruise. DENNIS GET 5 STARS, AMAZING TOUR GUIDE AND HUMAN BEING. He entertained us with his tour getting out of the city. Drive to tubing took almost 1.5 hours. I did not appreciate the inaccurate and possibly deceptive timeline but what can you do. Renting shoes (non for sale fit us well for the $) was $3. BRING YOUR OWN WATER SHOES NOT FLIP FLOPS. We had to carry our tubes for a 40 min hike over 3 water crossings. DENNIS's friend pickup up our tubes after the first water crossing and that was nice but expect to carry. Hike was nice but unexpected and in rented water shoes. So we are at over hours of travel and walking to get to caves. ONCE THERE WOW!!!! incredible. Glad we did it. You really need to see it. Dennis was fantastic and his friend AMIR was AMAZING. maybe 30 min tubing in caves with narration and another 20-30 down the river. Again we had to carry our tubes out but for only a few min. They were tied together at this point and hard to carry down narrow trails. I popped one on a tree and almost fell over many times. Drive back was a little quicker at a little over an hour. Dennis was very concerned with getting us back in time and we had plenty of time. So take it for what is worth Y'all. About 3 hours of driving and walking and 1 hour of stunning beauty. I cant have really expected much more at this price point last minute. Tipped about $10 each to Dennis and Amir. This was our cheapest day in port. BRING WATER SHOES, SHOES not FLIP FLOPS. And a water case for your phone. GIVE DENNIS A RAISE. Without him and Amir this review may have been much lower.

Not worth the savings! - The kids himself were amazing. The tour company on the other hand was shady to say the least. I just had a hip replacement 5 months ago, first question I asked is how long of a walk and how strenuous would it be to get to the starting point. I was told that it would be 5 to 10 minute walk but very easy to do. We were introduced to our tour guide and told to wait approximately an hour before we departed. When we came back to the park we're told that we no longer had that tour guide and we were going to be going with a family of 4. The family that we were with were quite nice, they were Hispanic and only spoke Spanish. The tour guide was Spanish speaking as well and we had to ask for everything to be translated to us My wife and I both only speaking English. We were disappointed that we missed probably 75% of the things that were being said and had no clue on what was being talked about the majority of the time, especially inside the caves. Felt as if we were a tag along and it would have been more beneficial for both the family and ourselves to be on separate tours. Family had to wait for their interpretations that did take place and we missed out on the things being explained. My contacted the company about it was basically told that I was a liar. Highly recommend booking your excursions from your cruise ship, a few dollars you save by going on your own proved not to be worth it in the long run.
