- Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary - This excursion departs from the City to Crooked Tree for a day dedicated to birdwatching at the Crooked Tree Wildlife Sanctuary. The guide will provide an enriching birding experience along with insights into the local culture of their village. Participants will traverse various trails around the village of Crooked Tree, where they can observe and photograph a variety of birds including fowls, waders, Heron Egrets, Storks, and more. The tour also includes visits to the western causeway and the northern end of the Crooked Tree Community. Afterward, the group will depart from the community and return to Belize City.

Birding at Crooked Tree Sanctuary - Maya Walks took us to Crooked Tree Sanctuary to see birds. Richard was our guide and he was great! The water system at Crooked Tree is a large interconnected lagoon, river and side channels. We boarded on land and on the water seeing hundreds of water birds. The water was clean and a healthy ecosystem exists. Richard worked hard to spot all kinds of birds, clearly enjoying his work and enhancing our experience. Highly recommended going there and using Richard from Maya Walks company.

Great Bird Viewing - Crooked Tree was lovely. We did a lot of bird viewing by car but once we saw birds we would park on the side of the road and walk. Absolutely worth the visit.
