Guests are met at the exit of Terminal One or picked up from their hotels. Enjoy a leisurely drive through the city, experiencing the Belizean lifestyle as the guide shares historical and current events that have shaped Belize. Explore both old and new neighborhoods, churches, schools, and street vendors. Discover the origins of British Honduras, first established by pirates, followed by mahogany loggers and slaves. Relics from this era include colonial mansions, mahogany chips, and old rum bottles. Listen to stories about the memorial tomb and lighthouse of our benefactor, as well as the memorial park, banks, churches, clinics, pharmacies, hospitals, schools, and businesses.
Midway through, there is a stop at a local supermarket where visitors can shop at the gift store, deli for local snacks, beers, soft drinks, ice cream, Belizean chocolate, coffee, and pharmacy items. Then, search for orchids, birds, iguanas, and fish in the waterways, and possibly spot rare crocodiles that inhabit the city. Wildlife comes and goes. Finally, visit the rum factory for a tasting session before returning to the port.
