- Nohoch Che’en Caves Branch Archaeological Reserve - The second part of this tour takes us to the caves at Jaguar Paw! The Maya thought that these caves led to Xibabla, an underworld ruled by the Maya death gods and their helpers in K’iche’ Maya mythology. Upon reaching the caves and the river, you can take a dip and admire the beauty of the rocks and cave entrance. After that you can tube down the river and into the caves that contain art work and interesting rock formations within!

Fantastic tour and tour guide, Eric! - This was a GREAT tour. Our guide, Eric, was fantastic!
The cave tubing was a lot of fun, and the Mayan ruins were beautiful. Eric even coaxed a beautiful little tarantula out of it's hole in the ground.
We even got the chance to meet Jose, the owner of the company. If at all possible, it would be amazing to have both Eric and Jose on the tour. Jose is hilarious and quite a character!
Don't tour Belize without them.

Awesome tour with Eric from Jose Tours - Belize is beautiful. Eric from Jose Tours was a fantastic tour guide.
The cave tubing was awesome. Eric gave us great insight to the Mayan ruins as well.
I can't say enough good things about Eric and this tour. We were on a cruise ship and only had so much time to spend on this excursion. Because you have to take a boat tender from ship to shore, we were quite late for our excursion. Jose and Eric were so understanding and know all of this beforehand. They were so accommodating and made sure we got to experience everything within the time we had.
If you tour Belize, look nowhere else but Jose Tours and ask for Eric or Jose himself. You will not be disappointed unless you are grumpy and don't have personality.

Great experience to the ruins and cave tubing - We were so glad we did the private tour through Jose Tours. Eric was our tour guide and he was awesome, knowledgeable and funny. He took good care of us.
Strongly recommend booking, and ask for Eric!

Great tour and guide. Highly recommend. - This was a very relaxing tour led by Nelson, our very knowledgeable guide. We were picked up at our hotel, took the drive to Altun Ha. Nelson explained just enough about the site and the civilization/what the Mayans did at this site. We only spent about an hour (perfect). Have to call out - best souvenirs to date!
Then we headed to the cave tubing. My husband is sun-sensitive so tubing in a cave fit perfectly. Again, a very informative but relaxing tour/day. Highly recommend.

Private Altun Ha and Howler Monkeys Tour - Jose was the best tour guide you could ask for! He was very personable, knowledgeable, and greatly knew the landscapes and history of Belize. He made our tour enjoyable. Due to the high rivers, cave tubing was cancelled for all tourists that day. However, in lieu of the cave tubing Jose took us to see the Howler Monkey sanctuary - which was an amazing experience. When we arrived at the Altun Ha ruins, there were several tourists bus groups already. But Jose still managed to help make our tour of the ruins feel private and we did not cross paths with the large tourists groups. He took us around the ruins and told us about the history of the Mayan people. Afterwards he brought us to the Roadhouse where we had a wonderful Belizean lunch. He then got us back to the water taxi terminal with plenty of time to spare for the next boat back to San Pedro. This was an amazing tour and next time we are in Belize we will definitely book Jose again.

Great experience - Jose and Able were great. We enjoyed every moment!! Cave tubing is a must! We also did the ruins and the zoo and it was a great experience!

Amazing and highly recommended!!!!! - Jose was our tour guide and he really made the trip such an amazing and enjoyable experience. I would highly recommend taking this trip and experiencing such an amazing side of Belize. It's definitely our most memorable experience on our trip by far!

Disappointed - We were very disappointed first that we were not notified about the changing weather and the risk of cancellation of parts of the trip. We should have been given the option to continue or cancel based on the changing itinerary. We understand the weather can be unpredictable but expect to be given the option based on bad weather.
Additionally, the driver drove quite fast and some in the back of the van had motion issues.

Cool sights while being hustled. - Felt like we were being hustled the entire trip. Hearing how sick our tour guides son was with a multi hour focus on the cost of treatment. Doesn’t Belize have free healthcare? As a doctor myself I could tell the story was a lie. Then when it was mentioned I’m a veterinarian I was questioned as to why I didn’t bring free flea prevention. Pretty tasteless.
