Get to Know Belize tours are the top choice for Hopkins adventures! - We had a wonderful experience on our various get to know Belize tours and shuttle. The highlight was the Anderson lagoon bioluminescence tour - truly an otherworldly experience, we even got to jump in the lagoon and see the bioluminescence sparkling all over us! Every tour guides and driver and coordinator we had was amazing - Víctor , Edgar, Letticia, Greg, Meds (sorry if we’re spelling the name wrong!), Josie, Shane, and Vida. They all were responsible, flexible, extremely knowledgeable, and fun. It felt good knowing we were supporting a local, family-run (and woman owned) business. We also did the Cockscomb basin hike, Xuanituch tour and cave tubing. Highly recommend going with Get to Know Belize for all your Hopkins adventures!

Don’t miss these amazing sites in Belize! - What a beautiful way to spend Christmas Day! We enjoyed a lovely holiday guided experience to visit the Mayan ruins at Xunantunich. After climbing around at the site with an excellent guide, our guide Greg took us to a fantastic restaurant for lunch, and then off to Herman’s cave for tubing. Truly a magical day in every way. Recommend highly, and ask for Greg!

So interesting - An amazing experience! Dirk from gettoknowbelize was our driver and couldn't have been nicer! He shared so information about Belize. Junior was our guide at the ruins. He is a local and was so knowledgeable. We actually saw some spider monkeys. This time of year is off season so the place was practically empty. But wear comfortable clothes and shoes so you can explore. The weather is hot and humid. Very hot and humid. Hydration is a necessity. The caves were out of this world. Vida our guide has been doing the tour for twenty years. He knows it all. The water was refreshing. Highly recommend the tour.

Family with young teens from the US - Our travel guide was a local named Victor. We were picked up on-time in a beautiful air conditioned van. On the drive to Xunantunich, Victor told us all about Belize. The things he knew and shared with us made the trip enjoyable for me and my husband. My teenage daughters were listening but still waking up. When we got to the ruins we took this quick ferry ride across the river to drive into the area where we left the van and walked to the ruins. It was hot but Vic stopped in the shade when was explaining all about the site. We climbed to the top and after we saw monkeys, a boa constrict and a huge iguana. We also had a chance to talk to an archaeologist that was working there. After the ruins, we did some shopping and had a local lunch… delicious. Our next stop was cave tubing with Vita. It was nice to cool off. Victor made two extra stops for us, we swam in Blue Hole and stopped for ice cream and had the best ice cream I’ve eaten. On the way back to the resort Victor joked around with us; we danced, laughed and sang. He even stopped to show us the fruit of a cashew. This was a special day that we will never forget.

Excellent excursion - Derek was an excellent tour guide with great personality. We loved Xunantunich and cave tubing. The drive through Belize showed us the beautiful landscape. Xunantunich was an amazing experience and we were able to climb to the top of El Castillo. Cave tubing included a small bike though the jungle to the cool subterranean cave where we entered the small stream that the cave contained. Our tour guide led us through the cave and explained the formations while we drifted through the water. The water was a bit low because we went at the end of the dry season. Derek went above and beyond and took us to see the inland blue hole as well. Overall great experience and top notch service!

Dirk is the GOAT - Dirk was our chaperone/guide for the day - and he was incredible. Friendly, happy, knowledgeable, and just a good person to be around for the day. Definitely made this experience a 5/5. The tours themselves were interesting and we learned a lot about the Mayan culture, practices and people. Dirk also is a photographer and took some incredible shots of us.

Best day trip we did in Belize - Our guide Victor Hernandos was extremely knowledgeable and entertaining, he had the entire bus laughing. During the Mayan ruins tour he brought his Mayan heritage and depths of knowledge.during a tubing he would swim against the current to show us unique pictures within the cave.Again his knowledge of Mayan beliefs and geology brought a unique prospective to the second part of a day. If you a fortunate to get Victor as a guide you are sure to enjoy your day and learn about this amazing country.

The good, the bad & the slippery - Van driving guide (Dirk), Maya Ruins portion of trip (including local guide, and lunch) were excellent, even while it was a cloudy, drizzly day. Be prepared to climb steps carefully at the ruins, but a handrail is usually available. Not nearly the challenge of Machu Picchu. The cave tubing at St. Herman’s Cave was so unpleasant that it felt like a waste of time and money. That local guide did not improve our experience. To go tubing, one walks 10-ish minutes into the jungle, and several slippery steps into the cave. Exiting, of course, includes this trip in reverse. The time actually sitting in the tube in the cave felt very short in comparison. This would have been more dissatisfying except we felt poorly cared for by our tubing guide. We constantly felt in danger of scraping.our noses or knees because we were tugged too close to the sides and low ceiling of the cave. Find a bigger cave with a longer run and a more effective tubing guide.
