Memorable Tour to Wonderfully Uncrowded Roman Sites - This was an excellent tour of Thuburbo Majus, Zaghouan, and Uthina with a great local guide, Fathi. He is a retired professor with a fantastic knowledge of the Roman historical sites in Tunisia as well as a passion for teaching. He started the tour from the moment we got in the car and spent the drive elaborating on points of interest the whole way. He speaks English and French fluently, and I would request him by name if you book. We also did an unscheduled stop for lunch and then pastries, which was a memorable local experience as well. I should also add that we were so glad that we just paid for a tour and got driven to the sites, rather than try to rent a car and fight the crazy roads and drivers ourselves.

Excellent tour and guide to interesting sites - This tour goes to two important and worthy sites in Tunisia. At each site there are various highlights and we were fortunate to have our guide Ghassen with us to show and explain key features. It is very difficult to choose one particular site, however the cisterns at Zaghouan were exceptional. This private tour style is recommended as you can adjust the tour to meet your interests and Ghassen was very accommodating.

Delightful surprise (South of Tunis) - Enjoyed visiting Uthina Ancient Roman site and portions of the Zaghouan aqueduct. The visit to the Zaghouan water temple gives travelers a chance to relax in nature (the small forest around the temple adds a nice feel to the place). But my brother and I agree the highlight of the tour is the abandoned Berber village of Zriba El Alia.

Excellent trip - wanted more! - We merely drove past the Zaghouan aquaduct, but could have stopped had we asked. Thuburbo Majus is very impressive, larger than expected, and Uthina has a wonderful amphitheatre, only recently fully excavated. These are large sites; you could easily spend more time at each one, but time was limited due to time of year opening hours and our guide needing to avoid the rush hour traffic in Tunis (which is horrendous). Guide Ghassan was very pleasant and knowledgeable. He asked what we were interested in and when we highlighted we wanted to see local Tunisian life he took us for lunch in a local town eaterie with delicious authentic Tunisian food rather than to a tourist restaurant– good choice. An excellent trip which left us wanting more.
