A kayak tour done right - Exciting, interesting and memorable - Wow. For a first-time kayaker we were looked after exceptionally well. Our instructor Brenda and her colleague Nunu (apologies for spelling) were experts at their craft! Funny, interesting and informative. They hit every mark of a successful kayak tour and made me and my girlfriend feel comfortable and accommodated for. Brenda provided interesting commentary, facts and stories relating to the beautiful caves and allowed for some free-time to swim and enjoy the water. Additionally, she provided waterproof bags to keep electronics inside - of which she offered to take photographs of EVERY pair of kayakers on their phones! This was very much appreciated and so important when visiting a once-in-a-lifetime place such as Benagil. Right from the beginning until the end we felt looked after and completely safe. I couldn’t recommend this enough, if you’re unsure who to go Kayaking with. USE XPLORE!

The Earlier the Better - Branda and Mike were awesome! They stopped and explained the history of caves and secret spots. Definitely go in the morning before 11am because it gets PACKED with a lot of other tours. We did a 9am tour and it was perfect! Felt like we had the spots to ourselves. Enjoy!

Great experience, great vibes - Drove into the area from Lisbon, parking was very limited as there were a lot of crowds. Viking Mike helped us navigate right from the start. He was very energetic and the knowledge of the area was extensive. Would recommend anyone looking to seek out a once in a life time tour! P.S. Thanks, Mike for moving the log to make us a parking spot for us!!

Incredible intimate cave exploration - Brenda and Mike were amazing guides through the caves! You see the main attractions and get to explore smaller, deeper caves that you can’t get to on a bigger boat. This was so worth the trip and the cost, I’d do it again tomorrow if we had time!

Beautiful views and water - Amazing experience! Mike, our guide explained everything very thoroughly and shared great local stories. The view is beautiful and it is definitely worth the adventure.

Great experience, great guides - I took my wife and our 2 children on a guided kayak tour to Benagil Cave or other wonderful places on July 21, 2024 in the morning. It was a great undertaking and a great experience. Partly responsible for the successful excursion were our guides Brenda and Mike. They were very competent, nice and entertaining. Very convenient for the children was of course that Mike spoke German. Absolute Recommendation

Great experience, well organised - Amazing experience entering three different caves. The guides are very experienced and organize the group well (no one will get lost unless they try). The view from the kayak is much better than from the cliff edge, and you experience more than if you took a guided boat tour.

Great guide. Cost though? - Mike the Viking and Brenda? the Mermaid were super engaging guides. I struggle to see the reason for the price difference between tours to be honest. Although we were on time, those bringing the kayaks seemed to be running late. When we got to the beach, other groups were already doing their briefing. Effectively we missed the sunrise on the water which we could have experienced had there been better organisation. It would also be nice to advertise the kayaks are able to be used by 1,2 or 3 people. As a solo traveller I thought I’d be pairing with another, not realising I’d have to do it alone.

Beautiful landscape - frustrating guides - Overall was a good experience but that was mainly because of the beautiful landscape. The company that took us out was not great. One guide was late, one was pretty abrasive with his communication style, ordering people around too much in our opinion. Mike the Viking changed the energy from fun to somewhat militant too often. I understand safety needs to be prioritized but every aspect of the adventure was entirely too strict. Some kid leaned back in his kayak because of a bad back and the guide made him sit up even though they were leading our pack and had great speed and control of the kayak…They paid for their kayak trip let them sit how they want… We were also rushed out of the main Bengali cave in literally 10 seconds. Not even enough time to store a mental image of it never mind get good photos. Still would do again because of how beautiful it was! Go early it gets super busy!
