Morning Taj Mahal and a Breakfast after - Thanks to our tour guide Vijay Chauhan, we got to go to the Taj Mahal before the crowd and experience the beauty of one of the worlds’ wonders. After, we had an amazing breakfast, we went a nice place to shop for souvenirs. I appreciated the hospitality and care our tour guide gave.

This day trip from Bangalore was right on the mark in terms of being able to visit all major attractions and local stores within the time frame available between flights. Raj my tour guide was fantastic (extremely knowledgeable, flexible and engaging). Highly recommend this tour.

Got a free weekend during your business trip in Bangalore? Go ahead, book it! You won't have regrets! - Booking process: I initally booked it on the official website, but it turns out that their website is being redesigned, so they recommend it to book on Viator or TripAdvisor. Communication: They were relatively quick to reply whenever I asked their messages. They were proactive in sending both the flight and hotel pickup info. They were also able to assist me to book using the correct channels. My passport photo was asked to book flight details. The flights will likely be the first Indigo flight of the day from Bangalore to Delhi and the last flight of the day back from Delhi to Bangalore. All these communication is provided through WhatsApp. The tour, the guide, and the drivers all use them. Bangalore pickup/dropoff: My driver for my Bangalore was Vinod. He arrived at my hotel around 1 am and waited there and slept in the car until my designated pickup time at 3:30 am. Turns he lives on the other side of the city so he just slept in his car overnight. Talk about dedication! Most of the times, he was driving like a North American driver, almost always inside the designated lane and around the speed limit. He showed defensive and careful driving skills. Might be easier to do it since he drove in the wee early morning hours. Coming back, another person (forgot his name) was waiting with a sign of my name, and was reunited with Vinod shortly after. I ultimately ended the tour at 2:45 am, which was 24 hours and 15 minutes since I woke up for this big excursion. Delhi pickup/dropoff: My driver for the Delhi section was Sonu. We communicated through WhatsApp to sort out our pickup location. Upon meeting him, he welcomed me with a garland in the car! A traditional Indian welcome! He was a speedy driver and was able to take me to the destination in three hours, including a break in a rest area, allowing me to see the sights as early as we could. Agra tour: My tour guide was Raj. He has shown experience as a tour guide by not only providing me with encyclopedic knowledge of Agra's monuments, but also guided me through walking like "watch your step", etc. My entrance to both Taj Mahal and Agra Fort were quick since we used the "high value" entry ticket so I was able to skip the long lines. He also asked locals to make space for me to take photos of Taj in particular. I did not know there was supposed to be a black Taj across the river! Lots of facts that I didn't know! Carpet weaving: Aside from the two monuments, the tour also stopped at an embroidery, a carpet factory, and a marble shop to see what the locals in Agra do as their livelihood. They gave a demo of carpet weaving, provided free chai, and then moved to try to sell their products to me... pretty aggressively. I felt being coerced into buying. They made me feel bad for them as they told me that they made efforts unrolling as many carpets as possible only to not buy anything, but ultimately they understood that buying household items for me required consent from the entire household. Too bad they were sleeping at the time being. Embroidery: The embroidery shop, Sanskriti, was pretty interesting, some art was made by Shams, an award-winning artist who ultimately lost his vision and so they sell for a lot more than average. They provided a demo of the embroidery process and also provided chai while browsing their products. They also run a jewelry business, in which I was able to buy Christmas gifts for the family in advance. A lot less coercive and forceful in selling tactics than the carpet shop so it made me more welcome in buying their products. Jewelry is also per individual so I didn't need consent from the houeshold to buy them, so this was the Indian souvenir I bought. Marble shop: The marble shop at the end provided a demo of the stones they use in making marble tabletops, which are the exact same material used in Taj Mahal! That's why this shop was the most relevant of the three inthe tour. That said, like the other two shops, they gave me chai while browsing. Selling tactics was more bargain-y than aggressive. They tried to sell smaller and smaller products to me when they realized I have limited budget due to my price of my previously bought products approaching the duty-free limit. Ultimately, he understood as well that I needed consent from the entire household when buying household products and I have limited budget due to duty-free limits. Overall: I would've docked a point for the aggressive selling tactics from the shops, but that is not within the tour company's control. Overall, I was satisfied with the private tour and was worth the price. If you have a free day in your business trio in Bangalore and want to see India's icon in a day? Just book it! You won't regret it!

I wonder of the world brought to life by my guides - Guide Arun Rajpat and driver Madan were very knowledgeable and courteous in every way. The car was impeccably clean, and water was provided. I found the driver Madan be a very nice man and a safe driver. I had an amazing experience at the Taj Mahal, taking advantage of the guide Arun’s extensive knowledge of the history and the best places for pictures and how to avoid the crowd. I found him to be a delightful person to spend the day with. The Taj Mahal was amazing and he brought out every aspect of it in its glory. Then, we went to Fort Agra, which was also very impressive and the guides historical perspective was very much appreciated. From there, we did some shopping in Agra and I appreciated the exposure to the local artisans. The proprietors of the shops were courteous, but make sure you bargain with them for good deal. I would absolutely recommend the entire experience to anyone interested in the area.
