- Madu Ganga Biodiversity Area - The Madu River is a wetland located near the small town of Balapitiya along the Colombo-Galle highway. This is where the estuary of the Madu River is found. The river meanders through a landscape that forms numerous islands, creating a stunning wetland ecosystem. Nearby hotels offer boat rides through the canals at reasonable rates, and there are plenty of places to stay, dine, and enjoy.
- Lunuganga Garden Tour - The Lunuganga Estate was the country house of the famous Sri Lankan architect Geoffrey Bawa. During the Dutch era, the estate was used for cinnamon cultivation, and under British rule, it became a rubber plantation. In 1948, the small house on the estate was rented to the local tax collector.
