- Bryggen Hanseatic Wharf - Passing by the famous Bryggen Wharf and UNESCO site as we are heading out of the buzzlng city on the way to the Golden Circle of the Fjords and waterfalls.
- Nordhordland Bridge - The Nordhordland Bridge has completely sealed off the beautiful Osterfjord area to cruise travelers since it was built in 1994. Hence have this area been inaccessible as the modern boats are far too big to venture under the small inlet.
The Nordhordland Bridge is a marvel of engineering and is North Europes longest floating bridge without side anchors. The large arch construction is made to withstand the current in the fjord as the tide travels in and out twice a day.
- Vikanes - As we travel along the fjord side, we make a fjordside stop at Vikanes to gaze at the mirror-like waters in this highly protected area. Tall mountains surround the place and make wind and weather to be a Bergen City phenomena
- Mostraumen - The Mostaruam tidal channel is one of the narrowest areas of the fjords and this is where the Osterfjord stopped until the spring of 1743 when a large flood washed away the outlet of what used to be a river from the Mo lake. As a result - the tide now comes in and with it saltwater. The Fjord is as a result the “youngest” fjord in Norway and did not exist 300 years ago.
- Mo - Mo Village is a picturesque small place with only some 380 inhabitants. The Mo waterfront is a group of modern buildings that have its architecture inspired from long traditions as it resembles both the Bryggen Wharf in Bergen and the historical seahouses found along the fjord banks in many small places. Here we make a longer stop of 20 minutes so people can have a restroom visit and a cup of coffee at the local shops.
- Hesjedalsfossen - The Hesjedalsfossen twin waterfall plunges into a free fall of some 63 meters (206 feet) as it falls into a cavity on the Fjord bank. We stop just meters away from it and during the spring it is wize to bring an umbrella for the best view and keeping dry.
- Kallestadsundet - The Kallestad bridge connects the largest inland island in Europe, Osteroy - to the mainland. The bridge offers a spectacular viewpoint with the unique roadless Veafjord scenery in the background. Definitely the tours “hottest” photospot
- Stamneshella - After Stamneshella we make a small stop at the strongest tidal current in south Norway and where the name, STRAUME actually translates directly to the English word “current”. During the lowering tide the fjord looks like a wild river and the force of nature becomes obvious to see with your own eyes. After this stop we start our return to Bergen as we arrive at the larger road E-16 leading back to the cruise port.
