  • Bryggen Hanseatic Wharf - The bus drives past Bryggen at the beginning of the tour.
  • Fish Market - We pass by Bergen’s fish market
  • Holbergskaien - Our first photo stop of the tour takes place on the harbour, opposite Bergen’s UNESCO World Heritage area. it is one of the prettiest photo stops in the city!
  • Nordnesparken - The bus drives around the Nordnes peninsula, where you can see wooden houses from the 17th century onwards, the witch burning memorial, the aquarium, and so much more. We stop at what was voted the prettiest alley in Bergen by the locals.
  • Den Nationale Scene - Back in the city centre, we pass by the Bergen Theatre.
  • Hurtigruten Terminal - We take a short detour down to the Hurtigruten terminal to show you where Norway’s famous coastal ferry docks, as well as the oldest wooden houses in the city (with a fascinating story!)
  • Torgallmenningen - On our way out of downtown Bergen, we pass the main pedestrian street in Bergen with St. John’s Church in the background.
  • Domkirken (Bergen Cathedral) - We pass by Bergen’s historic cathedral, with parts dating from the 12th century.
  • Lepramuseet St. Jorgens Hospital - We pass by the historic leprosy hospital from the 13th century.
  • Nygardsparken - NygÃ¥rdsparken is part of the University district and also Bergen’s oldest public park.

  • Møllendal - We drive around the LungegÃ¥rd Lake in the neighbourhood Møllendal
  • Haukeland - We pass by Bergen’s hospital, which is the largest employer in the city.
  • Starefossen - Time to wind our way up the hillside district! This is where the most expensive houses in Bergen are, but it also provides some of the best views of the city. We have a secret photo stop here.
  • Skansemyren - We make our next photo stop at Skansen, the historic fire station.
  • Krohnengen school - Heading back down from the hills, we drive through a historic neighbourhood with wooden houses and past the old Krohnengen School.
  • Norges Fiskerimuseum - Our last photo stop is in a secret spot behind the Fisheries Museum, providing fantastic views out to the city fjord and surrounding islands.

Additional Information

Note - this tour is only in English. For another language, please contact us for a private tour. This tour is organised by I Love Bergen, a locally owned and operated company. Our tours focus not just on the history and highlights of Bergen, but also the off-the-beaten path places and stories of everyday life.

Our minibus tour will take you to some of the most beautiful viewpoints in the city, as chosen by our local guides. This tour is perfect for those who want to escape the rain, avoid Bergen’s steep hills, or who just want to see as much of the city as possible.

The tour is led by a live, English-speaking local guide (no pre-recorded audio!). Our drive features at least four photo-stops around Bergen, all providing unique and contrasting views of the city. Because we use a minibus rather than a full-size bus, we can go where most bus tours can’t go and use this to our advantage.

  • Guests must tell us ahead of time if they need a wheelchair accessible bus or child seat.

The minivan was a great way for us to see Bergen! - Our guide, Neil, was witty, knowledgeable and very likable and he did a fantastic job narrating the tour. We were transported in a nice Mercedes minivan that made it easy for our driver to navigate and it allowed us to get on and off easily at our various stops. The Bryggen walk at the end of the tour was a nice capstone to our 2 1/2-hour experience.

Bergen’s best tour - Today we did the minibus tour of Bergen with Emma as our guide. Her commentary was great and her knowledge about Bergen and Norway was very informative. This was the fourth tour in Norwegian ports this week and it was by far the best.
