Bergen Highlights with Andres - Andrea provided a very interesting cultural tour of the beautiful town of Bergen with delightful and delicious stops for local cuisine. We loved the fish cake from the fish market located next to the tourist center at the harbor! Never have we visited such a well organized fish market with delicacies galore and fine wines to accompany the seafood choices. Learning about the carpentry of the Middle Ages which still is required for today’s renovations was interesting and Andrea showed us the extraordinary process! In a beautiful garden setting we enjoyed a lunch of a meaty(lamb&pork) soup with delicious local vegetables. We visited the moose leather shop where we bought a moose leather fisherman’s cap! The cellar bar with its unique and tasty beer and the captivating story of Prince Christian II shared by Andrea will certainly lead to another visit there!! We highly enjoyed and recommend this tour with charming Andrea in Bergen!

Good tour overall. - History part was great, food portion was a little lacking. Would have loved to learn more about the unique culture of the food and why it's signature to the area. Additional food stops would have been better, with smaller bites.

Great tour - Emphasis of our tour was on the culture and not the food. But given that, the history and local culture imparted by our guide was pretty wonderful and through. Time well spent and worth the dollars spent as well.

History Tour (with snacks) - If you are a foodie looking for a food tour, this isn’t it. Our guide was perfectly nice and had lots of stories to tell about the Hanseatic history of Bergen. There were also snacks- a fish cake, cinnamon bun, brunøst (brown cheese), a bowl of soup, warm apple juice, beer- but we came away not having learned anything about the food or culture of Bergen. The pork and lamb soup, at a restaurant that used to be a public bath, was an especially odd part of the tour.) If you are really interested in Norwegian or Bergen food and food culture, this is not the tour you want.

Disappointing- more history tour than culture and food tour - The tour was so different from other tours like this in other cities. The first half was standing around for long periods of time listening to a history lecture from a guy who knew English well but had no fluency. It was hard to follow the story with his halting English. At one point we stood for 20 plus minutes to listen in a dark cool hallway. Why look at beautiful views when they might distract you from the history lecture? We were given some local food but literally started the tour standing next to the fishmarket, and he never once mentioned anything about it. The second half was better after we stopped for meat soup at a local restaurant. We walked through some cool neighborhoods and got some good pictures. It ended with a small beer in an old pub with a drawn out historical story. If you’re expecting a food tour where you go to 4 or 5 local restaurants with short stops to point out the attractions and lots of food and culture content while you eat, this is not that.
