Wonderful hike on the mountains around Bergen - Our hike with Emma was a memorable experience. Glad we actually did it. You might want to consider this hike if you want to experience the mountains around Bergen and add that extra excitement to your holidays. We were picked up promptly by Emma our guide. She was very knowledgeable about the area and the natural surroundings. She drove us about 30 minutes outskirts of Bergen where we started our hike. The initial sections were a bit tricky (ropes available to help the climb). As we started to ascent we got views over the fjords and Bergen scenery. We also stopped to pick wild berries. A 40-50 minutes trek up the mountain brought us to the summit. We took in the fresh breeze and the scenery. Emma shared some much needed sweets and chocolates to regain the lost energy. After spending some time on the top we started our journey back down. Once we reached our starting point Emma treated us to some cinnamon delicacy's popular in Bergen. Overall a wonderful experience and a great guide. I would highly recommend this adventure.

Great hike in Bergen - Out family thoroughly enjoyed a beautiful hike to the top of a scenic point overlooking Bergen and the fjords. Our guides were thoughtful and helpful and we enjoyed our time hiking with them. They even provided a delicious pastry and coffee snack for us in their home afterwards. It was a great way to spend an afternoon in Bergen!

Great guide, fantastic views - I went with my teenage son, without my husband (who had a hip injury and couldn’t hike). I was a little nervous in a foreign country going on a private hike with just the two of us and a guide, but Olav was a wonderful guide. He was prompt picking us up outside the cruise terminal and immediately made us feel comfortable and welcome. The first 10 minutes of the hike are pretty straight uphill, but he will go at your speed or help you if needed. Once you get past that, the rest of the hike is moderate to easy if you are used to doing any cardio exercise. The views were amazing.. almost 360 degrees of water, island and mountains. Our actual hiking was probably about 1.5 -2 hours long plus stops for photos on top, a snack on the patio of his home at the end and a 15 min drive both to and from the cruise port. Total 3hours. I would highly recommend this to anyone interested in hiking and seeing the beautiful views.

Your authentic and adventurous Bergen experience 🗻💛 - If you’re looking for a local, authentic and adventurous experience, I highly recommend this! I only had 2 days in Bergen and was so glad that I came across this tour. Maria was such a knowledgeable, considerate and fun guide and I immediately felt welcomed when she picked me up from my hotel. The hike itself is rewarding with genuinely breathtaking views of Bergen and surrounding areas (quite different vibes compared to Mount Floyen). Maria paced the hike really well, always made sure I was ok and answered all my questions about the wildlife - we even snacked on wild strawberries, raspberries and blueberries along the walk! We then tried some fresh jam as we were welcomed into the beautiful family home. The hospitality was fantastic and I really felt part of the Norwegian culture. Super happy that we got to climb one of the many mountains in Bergen. This was such an authentic way of immersing into the city and I will definitely book this again if I revisit Bergen! ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Fantastic hike and experience - Fantastic hike and experience - capped off with a visit to the guide's family beautiful house on a cliff overlooking the city where you are warmly served coffee and bakery items. Hike is moderate difficulty - it's a a few trails and some rocks with a few places with ropes to help as needed. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

You should do this. Seriously. - Jan is a wonderful host. I made a mistake about my pick up location and he was very accommodating. Our hike was *incredible*. We had such a great time. Jan gave us a heads up about difficult sections and gave us time to take in the scenery. He never rushed us, and when we were a little slower, he patiently waited for us. Our conversation was so interesting and I am so so so glad we booked this excursion. If you are considering this, you should absolutely do it. I felt like a real local Norwegian.

Great addition to Bergen stay - This was a perfect addition to our time in Bergen. Olav was kind, outgoing, and very easy to be with. The hike was gorgeous and a lot of fun. Our two young kids managed pretty easily but Olav did a great job keeping them engaged. We loved getting to learn more about Norwegian culture while enjoying baked goods and coffee after the hike. I would highly recommend this for anyone wanting to see a different side of Bergen!

Wonderful hiking experience - My mom, brother and I came to Bergen and signed up for this hike. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience. Olav was our guide and he was wonderful. My mom needed some hand holding while making it up some of the big rocks and Olav was patient and helped her without a problem. Visiting the family home was an enjoyable experience and getting a chance to visit and talk about the different areas of Norway and the culture was something wonderful. I can’t recommend this hike enough. I do recommend folks bring an extra pair of socks if it’s a rainy day and make sure your shoes have good tread, the roots can get a bit slippery when wet.

Great, informative tour guide and beautiful Norwegian views! - Olav was a great tour guide. In the early morning of May 17th (The National Day of Norway), he took me on the hike where the views were stunning! I was able to hear the cannons go off from the city center, which was a tradition for that day. He brought me traditional Norwegian food as well as water for the hike. The views from the top were stunning and Bergen goes down as the most beautiful city I have ever been to. Thank you Olav! It was worth every penny.
