The Drakensberg stands as one of the premier trekking locations globally. Its age-old basalt and sandstone formations rise majestically, creating a natural boundary between South Africa and Lesotho. This trek offers an unmatched hiking venture. The mnweni region of the Drakensberg is secluded. We don’t come across other trekkers during our expeditions. The only individuals we encounter are occasional Basotho shepherds atop the escarpment. It’s a genuine traditional trekking journey. Trekkers are self-reliant, carrying their own backpacks filled with sleeping bags and clothes. We quench our thirst with water from the pristine mountain streams. The apex of the experience occurs on the second night when we rest in an age-worn cave nestled into the cliffside.
- Hikers must be moderately fit. Must be able to handle 10km daily hiking distances
