An excellent way to get acquainted in Berlin - It was my first day in Berlin and booking this boat tour, helped orient me in knowing where most of the landmarks were near the river, Spree. It allowed me to see how diverse the architecture was in Berlin from a different perspective all while having a drink on the boat. I recommend taking this trip as soon as you get to Berlin!

Pleasant Trip - Pleasant trip along the river. Commentary in German & English. We actually missed our booking on arrival due to the terrible roadworks so I messaged them to say sorry we won’t be there. The next morning they replied to say they could book us on another trip which was lovely and very unexpected so 10/10!!

Enjoyed seeing many... - Enjoyed seeing many things in a comfortable setting on a sunny day. Enjoyed having bar service as well. Commentary was fine, shared a variety of information and history.

Ok, but could of done better - OK, not exceptional. Commentary kept repeating many of the same facts several times in one full trip. There were a number of hop on hop off competitors running the same route. Big Bus seemed to have fewer buses operating.

Comfortable trip, but a bit unserious. - It was a nice boat trip, very nice waitress. The captain, on the other hand, was gretten, and he smoked inside the boat even though there was a sign that said smoking was forbidden. The windows were a little dirty that made it a bit demanding to take pictures.

Great views but couldn’t hear commentary - Good. Easy meeting spot and lovely views. I just wish the volume was louder as the pre-recorded commentary couldn’t be heard very well and there wasn’t much background noise. So we missed all the information.

Good experience - The tour went as expected. It is a nice way to see parts of the city without being on your feet. It is pre-recorded in both German and english

AVOID if ENGLISH SPEAKER - Just to drive home the point made in many other reviews, this tour is terrible if you don’t understand German and actually want to learn about what you’re looking at. The German commentary is first (fair enough obviously) and soooooo long and so by the time the English descriptions came around, you had passed the site of interest and it was very difficult to make sense of it. This was a problem for many of the landmarks too - not just one or two. They could have broken up the commentary a little - maybe describe a little in German, then some in English, then back to German again etc.. just so you can actually look at the correct landmark and take it all in, but they don’t and so much of what was said was well after the landmark had gone. So that’s why I say avoid, if you actually want to enjoy the tour. If you just want a boat ride up and down the river in a clean boat, on a sunny day in Sept, with a cold beer (served promptly) then by all means, so this tour because actually, the boat and service were pretty good. But I give it the stars I do for the reasons mentioned. I would not recommend to English speakers at all.

Do not book through Viator - terrible - I'm absolutely disappointed by this company I would not recommend them. I had booked the ticket the day before to go on the boat ride. I inadvertently selected for two adults instead of one (solo travel). The attending on the boat kindly wrote on the receipt that I was one person and told me to email this company in order to get the refund. I have sent three or four emails and they refused to acknowledge the comments on the receipt (written in German which I do not speak) and the fact that I was one person. I have emailed them back several times. To be so unprofessional and not follow through with clearly documented and supported material confirms with me that I will never use this company ever again. I travel quite often but I will never book anything with them moving forward or recommend them. The boat tour itself was great but I would not use this company at all I would go directly to the websites to save yourself time. Absolute headache would not recommend this company but would recommend a tour through their companies.

Too crowded. - The boat is over full and we were sat far too close to complete strangers. They either need fewer chairs around the tables or ditch the tables and have everyone face forward. This was a jumbled mess and no one had any personal space. The audio tour had a slight delay and told us nothing new. It was monotonous and just served to make us all sleepy. Do the free walking tour instead you will learn far more and enjoy it.
