Highlights
  • Berlin - If you want to enjoy one of the best excursions in Berlin, and discover, in its main settings, the most exciting chapters of its history. Our excursion is designed to discover the most important places in Berlin in a comfortable and quality way.
  • Memorial and Museum Sachsenhausen - During this visit we will learn about the daily work of the prisoners and how daily life was carried out in the concentration camp, through the buildings that have survived to this day. We will understand the complex history of this place through the different monuments that, for different ideologies and at different times, have been placed in the memorial.

Everything we will see in our tour on the visit to the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp:

  • Exhibition “The marches of death”.
  • Tower A, security measures and punishments.
  • Small field: Barracks 38 and 39.
  • Camp prison.
  • Kitchen and laundry.
  • Soviet monument of 1961.
  • Station Z.
  • Infirmary and Morgue.
  • Potsdam - Potsdam eventually became a royal residence. This brought part of the splendor that we see, palaces and gardens where the royal families and their courts ruled and walked.

There are many interesting places to see in Potsdam. We will see part of them, again, with the company and the explanations of our guide, but, in addition, in our free time, we will be able to continue exploring all the corners of this enclave.

A few tips and clearing some confusion... - Let me clear up some confusion about the bilingual nature of this tour plus offer a tip. When you first sign up, you get to choose either the Spanish or English version. But the About section on the TripAdvisor page talks about "Follow your speaking guide..." OK, but who do the English speakers follow? Confusing. We chose English, even though my wife's native language is Spanish. She's bilingual. When you meet at Alexanderplatz, there will be two guides waiting there at the same place, near the fountain. You hang with the guide speaking your language. Ours was the English speaker, a guy named Matias, Italian-Argentine background. Yes, he had an accent but was fully understandable and was an excellent source of information throughout the day. I never did get the Spanish guide's name. Once the participants are ready to depart, both language groups board the same bus. The Spanish speaker, a native of Spain, was the driver. English-speaking Matias sat in the front row. They took turns doing the presentations on the bus. Yes, the Spaniard seemed a little long winded vs. Matias, but I don't think it was 70/30 as one reviewer claimed. Maybe 60/40 or so. My wife said he added more color to his monologue but both guys were very knowledgeable. No biggie. Once you disembark at each stop, the two groups split apart and you don't walk as one combined group. We hung with our guy Matias and the other English speakers. The Spanish speakers went with their own guide. I won't elaborate on contents of the tour since that's covered by other reviewers and the BuenDia Tour description. But I will say it was an informative and well done presentation that lasted I guess about eight hours or so. Can't remember exactly. The day we went it hit 90 degrees in Berlin! Thankfully the bus had good A/C and the guides advised everyone before we left to buy water bottles which we did. Shorts were the order of the day. Now some tips. First, because of the heat, our guides did not wear black jackets with the two logos showing. They were dressed for the weather. You have to be willing to approach somebody and ask if they're the BuenDia tour guide. Alexanderplatz is a huge area so you better get there well ahead of time to find the Brunnen der Völkerfreundschaft (the fountain.) The day before our tour we walked to Alexanderplats from the hotel to find the fountain so we knew exactly where the assembly point was. Good move. And finally...these guides work hard. Consider giving them a nice tip at the end. We did, but I didn't see a lot of other participants doing so.

Amazing - Great day trip! Despite the logistical issues and the traffic at the end, Wahlid (sorry if I am spelling that wrong) did a great job at making the trip enjoyable and taking care of the group. Really appreciated his sense of humour!

Great tour with very knowledgable guide - This was a great bus tour with an extensive walking tour of the Sachsenhausen Concentration Camp. Our guide (sorry I can't recall his name - he is in the photo with the unmissable clothing) was very good and gave a great commentary during the whole tour.

Running tour and bad Guide. It's not worth it - The Guide Alejandro kept talking about various unimportant information and then ran to another point of the Attraction. He came to the absurdity of not giving time to see the exhibition inside the concentration camp, because he forced people to keep listening to his explanations and then he left the room and said that we could not return from there. And the walk to POTSDAM was very shallow, we saw the buildings on the outside and alone. Once again he wasted time telling stories in an awful English and only bothered. On the way back to Berlin, we still had to hear his voice with pauses at every sentence, demonstrating total unpreparedness to communicate in English.

Many missed opportunities to delight yielded a terrible tour - Some challenges were in the guide's control and some were not. First, we shared a bus with a Spanish-speaking tour, so we got both languages, but for the portion of sites on the bus, it didn't allow opportunities to narrate what we were in front of. The day was perhaps the hottest of the year. We were given the opportunity to buy water, but all bus tours I've taken elsewhere bring a bottle of water and hand out on the bus as included. Its nice and it keeps others from waiting. The walking pace was too fast for some on the trip. The guide was interested in making sure we could see as much as possible, but there is a variance of pacing in walking. The guide always waited for everyone, so that was a positive for him. It would have been very easy to include the opportunity to get a ticket inside the Son Succi for the 45-minute tour. We did this the next day, but we could have seen other things if we had known to do this instead of say, having lunch in the Potsdam plaza. This was a missed opportunity to delight the tour guests. The most egregious problem was that we returned to the bus a little early (15-minutes). The bus driver refused to let us on and was rude about it. He refused to start the bus and only did so with 5-minutes until the bus was to leave. And only letting us on just as it was time to depart. Again, it was the hottest day of year. And there was the entire tour waiting to get on. That kinda ruined any good feelings for the tour as a whole.

Bad experience - I arrived 10 minutes late to the meeting point because I got lost looking for the place. I arrived at 9:42 am and the tour departed 9:30 am. Did not wait for us. I missed the tour.
