You’ll get a brief overview of today’s Shared Berlin Underground Party Tour, and I’ll share some unspoken rules of Berlin’s Techno scene.
Our introduction will conclude with an entertaining personal story about my adventures and interesting encounters at Techno raves.
Party on!
- Prenzlauer Berg - We’ll walk to our first stop of the evening: Spätkauf / Lateshop / Café ROJ 49.
On the way, I’ll tell you more about Berlin’s trendy Prenzlauer Berg district and explain the origin of its nickname “Pregnancy Hill.”
- Prenzlauer Berg - Our first stop is Spätkauf / Lateshop / Café ROJ 49, located at Stargarder Str. 50 in 10437 Berlin. This is the place to be in Prenzlauer Berg. Locals relax here, enjoying their after-work beer on cozy benches outside while catching up with friends.
The Lateshop is a perfect spot for “Cornering”—a typical Berlin activity for pregaming on a budget. True to Berlin’s slogan: “Arm aber sexy!” (Poor but sexy!)
We’ll meet Achmed, the friendly owner of the store, who will share an entertaining “Prenzlberg” story from the neighborhood. An evening at this lateshop sometimes feels like a scene from a soap opera, and it’s rumored that famous Berlin techno DJs are regulars here.
After that, we’ll grab a Sternburg beer, also known as “Sterni,” and you’ll get to know your fellow group members of the Shared Berlin Underground Party Tour while enjoying its unique aromatic taste.
Prost!
- Prenzlauer Berg - Next, we’re heading to the bar “MOKUM.”
As we walk through the district, we’ll spot some graffiti, and I’ll tell you more about my career as a photographer in Berlin’s Techno and Graffiti scene. Try to remember some of the graffiti artists’ names you see on the building facades—you might see their work again on the street or in a Techno club.
By the way, both cultures are interconnected, and I’ll explain the mutual influences they share in Berlin’s underground scene.
- Mokum - MOKUM is an old-school bar known for its “Tresensport.”
While enjoying a cold drink, we’ll play a round of table soccer. Beware, some regulars are masters of the game and will try to score fast and precise goals! We’ll also play a round at the pinball machine, and you can try to beat the high score. Feel free to chat with other members of the Shared Berlin Underground Party Tour or practice your moves on the Rock&Roll dance floor. Enjoy MOKUM’s unique atmosphere and vibe.
- Prenzlauer Berg - We’re heading to the highlight of the Shared Berlin Underground Party Tour by public transport: a specially selected Techno club to create the best Berlin party experience for you!
On the way, I’ll share some tips and tricks on how to get past the bouncers at the Techno club so you can rave the night away.
- Warschauer Strasse - We’ve reached our final destination: the best Techno party of the night!
The DJs, the crowd, the organizing label, and the club’s vibe have all been considered to choose today’s unique Techno rave.
Enjoy Berlin’s Techno, which has recently become part of UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritage, to the fullest: loud Techno music, powerful bass, colorful disco lighting, and an atmosphere you can only experience in Berlin.
I’ll accompany you into the club, and we’ll rave together!
