• Checkpoint Charlie - Renowned as the most famous checkpoint, it witnessed numerous escape attempts, both successful and failed, and was the site of a dramatic standoff between American and Soviet forces in the autumn of 1961.
• Topography of Terror - Located on Niederkirchnerstrasse, this is the only remaining section of the wall in this area of Berlin. It stands adjacent to the former Luftwaffe Headquarters, which served as the House of Ministries during the East German period, and is notable for one of the most daring escapes into West Berlin.
