Berlin wall history and walking tour - My group took a tour of parts of the Berlin wall starting with the historical area where the gates were first opened on November 1989. Our guide was Katrin who grew up in East Berlin before the wall was taken down. She provided a wonderful and informative tour of the historical areas of the wall. It was especially good to hear her description of life at that time. The tour helped give me perspective and information on why the wall was built and why it eventually came down. A fascinating story.

Fantastic tour with Katrin - The tour from Bornholmer Bridge following where the wall ran towards Bernauer Strasse was excellent. Katrin (a former citizen of the DDR) was very informative and knowledgeable. It was a wet & cold day however Katrin kept our interest with many facts, antidotes and experiences during a fascinating period of German history. Thoroughly recommended.
