Gripping overview - Seelow Heights is the last main battleground of WWII European theatre prior to taking Berlin. Severely outnumbered Germans had three defensive lines an inflicted extremely high casulties on the advancing Russians. Nevertheless less the heights were taken by the Russians in 3 days and advanced on Berlin. There is a small informative museum together with various larger military vehicles and guns on display. There is a major vantage point at the top of the heights which gives you a panoramic view as the Germans would have seen it. If you are a historian or interested in WWII this is a must see site.

Great experience - Matt is very knowledgeable and knows the terrain, tactics, and ‚secret spots‘. He takes you from original Oder beach head, then Soviet jumping off lines in the Oderbruch to German defensive trenches at the commanding heights of Seelow and finishes up at one of the breakthrough points on way to Berlin. This would be impossible to do solo / without a guide.

10 out of 10 Well Worth the Price of Admission - Matt and Steve shared their encyclopedic knowledge of the grand scene in easily-digestible bits mapped to the timeline of the battle. As we visited far-flung river crossings, staging areas, command posts and interlocking defense works, the tour paid special attention to small unit tactics, as well as individual accounts of heroism and tragedy to illustrate the terrible human cost of the battle.

On another level of awesome - This is on another level. Great engaging hosts with encyclopaedic knowledge delivered with sweeping tour of the huge battlefield but with perfect pace that captured so much; the Oder crossing, the defence lines and the heights themselves and beyond. Seriously - do this tour. Poignant, hard-hitting, vividly detailed and just bloody brilliant. Incredible value for money. Hosts are sound, down to earth and fun. Like I said, thisbis out on its own.

One of the best guided tours - One of the best battlefield tours I’ve ever had. Guide is genuinely enthusiastic and knowledgeable. “Left field” questions were answered with enthusiasm and genuine knowledge. He carried across the experience of the battlefield to make you truly believe you were there in 1945. Superb!

Excellent Tour of the Seelow Heights Battle - Being able to see the actual battlefield area. It gave me a better understanding of the battle. The tour guide was knowledgeable. He had large maps of the battle to help us understand the battle. He was also very considerate of the slowest walker (me). I was impressed with his preparation, He had water for us, fruit and cookies if we wanted. I would take another tour from him.

Don’t Hesitate — Book This Tour!! - Don’t hesitate for one more second — book a tour with ‘On The Front Tours’ now! Matt was absolutely phenomenal and exceeded every expectation we had for our tour. So much so, we booked ANOTHER tour with him a day later. My husband is a huge WWII history buff and was so impressed with all of Matt’s extensive knowledge, experience, and comparative photographs he brought to the tour. He truly makes you feel as if you are standing in the middle of all the war action no matter where your tour takes place. He was even able to keep me engaged for 7+ hours and I am not into history the way my husband is. Matt is an all around wonderful person, very easy to talk to, and makes you feel so welcome from the second you meet. I warn you not to waste your time with the €20 tour from a random person/company. I compared ‘On The Front’ to everyone and I am 110% positive I made the best decision booking them. Do not hesitate to book with ‘On The Front Tours’. There is no company in Berlin that can beat them — I promise — they are worth it!

Clash of the titans tour is not just for men!!! - When I booked this trip for my husband, I thought “yawn”, be the nice wife and go along! Can I say that I was not bored at all…. Matt is extremely engaging and very knowledgeable which made the day. From agreeing to a hotel pickup prior to the tour at a cost which we were happy to pay. To tea and cake in Seelow heights, water, plenty of bathroom stops and a fantastic lunch to end the day. Each stop told a story and being able to walk the battlefield and trenches gave you a greater perspective of what the Russian army had to endure. A lot is known about the western front and it was amazing to discuss the eastern front. The tour is about 7-8 hours but it flys by… disappointed now we did not book another tour with the group. I would highly recommend for any wife, but wear boots for the journey into the fields
