History lesson of Berlin - Artie was very knowledgeable and gave a fantastic tour full of history. We walked to the top sites and he also suggested follow up sites/exhibits to go to on our own. Exactly what we were looking for. Thank you!

If visiting Berlin this is a must do tour! - Excellent tour by Maggie. Gave an excellent history of Germany from before the world wars, it's causes, and what has happened since, given in a very informal but informative way. Have been on many guided tours and this is up there with the best. If visiting Berlin this should be a must!

Recommended - Very good, informative tour. Plenty of background information to put the story into context. We visited a preserved part of the Berlin Wall, Communist era apartment blocks and ended at the Stasi Museum. The guide Nikolai was excellent and happy to answer any questions. Highly recommended.

Overall great - I use to live in Berlin and when I first moved to the city and went on all the Insider tours and loved them! I recommended them to everybody who came to visit and so when I returned for a weekend break I thought I’d do a few with my boyfriend. We did the Third Reich tour first and Maggie was fantastic, cannot recommend her enough. So knowledgable but also really engaging and easy to listen too, sometimes it’s hard to take in information in the rain and cold Berlin December weather but she was utterly brilliant! We then did the Cold War tour with Thomas, who was equally engaging and knowledgeable however I was slightly disappointed the tour only really focused on the Wall rather then the Cold War history itself and we didn’t visit wider sites across the city (I previously remember going to an interrogation centre and learning more about the KGB which was very interesting) and we visited a ghost U station. This tour was 90% about the wall which was interesting don’t get me wrong and Thomas brought it to life but we essentially walked a very long was to the wall to start with and then spent the rest of the tour walking a stretch of the wall, if the tour has been called ‘the wall’ I think this would be better as this was all we spoke about. There was a slight buy on Martin Luther King but wasn’t quite sure how this fitted in. We learnt lots and I learnt things I didn’t on the many previous versions I did but I was disappointed there wasn’t more in the Cold War tour about the whole period, spy’s, KGB, relationship with allies, life in east Berlin which I remember being covered before (I believe by somebody called Barney who was brilliant if he is still around!). I do recommend though to those who are new to the city or looking for a great walking tour!
