The best of Potsdam you can do in a day!!! - Jorg our tour guide took us on an amazing adventure throughout Potsdam. We started at a train station in Berlin and he expertly navigated all the closed train stations (due to construction) to get us to our final destination. Once there we spent an hour or so walking through Potsdam before we hit the main highlight of the tour-- Sanssouci Palace and gardens. While the palace is rather modest as far as palaces go, it is quite beautiful. The gardens on the other hand are immense-- you could spend a few days exploring them!!! Jorg gave us the highlights of each and made sure to navigate in the coolest sections he could (it was quite hot that day) while still giving us a thorough background on when, why and for whom the various palaces and gardens in the area were built. The tour ends at Sanssouci Palace and you are highly encourage to stay and explore the area a bit more after the tour is over. We actually stayed and explored the inside of the palace via a self-guided audio tour which was quite fun. Thanks to Jorg for the great tour and I would definitely recommend to anyone who wants to spend the day in Potsdam.

Potsdam & Sanssouci - Despite work on the trains that resulted in a slightly longer journey getting to Potsdam the walking tour provided a great introduction to the city and sanssouci palace. Without a guide you would be unlikely to understand the history and layout of the city.

Amazing and interesting - Our guide was extraordinary! Very studied and passionate postdam history. Everything was beautiful and I recommend to bring an umbrella to protect you from the sun. The tour finish at the top of the palace.

Potsdam has a fascinating history - Our guide, Gregor, was quite well versed in the history of Potsdam and its builders. The various buildings are a bit meaningless without the narrative that our guide was able to give to us through photos, maps and his art history background. The groups was small and the train ride to and from was quick and easy. If you have an interest in the history of the Germany monarchy this is a worthwhile day.

Prussian history + smart commentary on contemporary East-West Berliner culture and politics - Gregor from Insider Tours was a real;y excellent guide, very knowledgable about the sites, which one owl expect, but as a millennial with East Berlin roots, he was able to add a lot of color about recent history and current politics, which was of great interest. The only problem is that train delays and route closures make the 25-minute trip from Berlin to Potsdam into a two-hour train and multiple-bus ordeal. We would never have found our way without a guide, but wondered how much he could have known about these problems ahead of time. He was very apologetic for the hassle, and made up for it with great guiding.
