My guide, Roshana, was so... - My guide, Roshana, was so friendly and knowledgeable. Despite the cold weather and me being the only person on the tour she made the experience so memorable. She was even kind enough to help me navigate the public transit; I wish I had done this tour at the beginning of my stay in Berlin!

A Great Overview of Potsdam from Royals to WWII - Katia was an awesome guide! Very knowledgeable and friendly, and willing to answer questions about other aspects of German and Berlin history. We chose this tour over others specifically because we didn't feel the need to go into the Sansoucci Palace and instead wanted a broader tour of Potsdam. However, the tour is over by 2:00 (maybe 2:30 if you decide to stop for lunch) so there is plenty of time to add a visit to Sansoucci Palace or the New Palace on your own if you want. The walk through the park to the Cecilienhof Palace was our favorite part, as our group was represented by nationalities that all played a role in WWII, so we had a very engaging conversation around the impact of the Potsdam Conference on today's geopolitics. The meeting point is easy to find in Berlin, and there are important sites along the train ride that Katia pointed out as well. If you'd like to ride back to Berlin with the group you can, or you can make this the start of a beautiful day in Potsdam! Keep in mind: The Sansoucci Palace is closed on Mondays, so if you do plan to go inside, make sure to book this tour on another day. Also, many of the buildings are undergoing extensive restoration work in the winter, with some buildings closed without a posted reopening date. The walk is still worth it though! Wear comfortable shoes! January 19, 2026

Memorable Tour with Katia - Our tour with Katia in Potsdam was fantastic and she had immense knowledge about both Potsdam and Germany. She kept us engaged the whole time with her cheerful smile, warm welcome, and the depth of her explanations. She was also very patient with us when we went off schedule, which made the experience feel relaxed rather than rushed. Overall, the tour was great as we managed to cover many important spots around the city and in the palace gardens. My favourite part was the park area (especially Sanssouci Park and Neuen Garden), which was absolutely beautiful and very serene, with stunning pathways and views that really stood out during the visit.

Be careful what is really included! - Interesting tour and guide very well. However, be careful, the excursion did not include the visit to the castle of Sans-souci but only the park while the description is deliberately ambiguous. After telling us that the castle was closed, the guide realized that it was open and we were able, at the end of the tour, to buy tickets and still visit it.

Give this one a miss in winter - Roshana was very knowledgeable, the tour started with the train towards Potsdam. We alighted the train before the stop to walk across the famous bridge that was used during the Cold War. This is where the tour got a bit messy, the palaces that we were suppose to visit were closed and we then caught a tram into Potsdam. We walked around Potsdam and this is where the guide was unsure of where to go. After checking with some locals she found her feet. We then went to the last palace which was closed again. We then caught a bus to the train station and then made our way home. Roshana then got off the train and we made our way back. Things I didn’t realize when I booked the tour is that I should have checked if places were open, that public transport was the main mode of transport and we had to make all the decisions on what to see. All I. All the tour was all over the shop which I would imagine was due to the weather. Hot tip - it would be better to do in summer.
