Instead of driving through Assateague State Park and Assateague National Seashore, consider renting a bike to take in the fresh air. Bike rentals are self-guided and come with helmets and baskets. Cycling through the park offers one of the best opportunities to see Assateague’s wild horses.

Renting bicycles at Assateague Island National Seashore is one of the best ways to get to know the Island and it’s inhabitants. Protected bike paths line the road, about 6 miles in total. Riding a bike through the National Seashore is one of the best ways to experience all Assateague has to offer; secluded beaches, marsh overlooks, wild horses and a plethora of birds. There is no entrance fee for the National Park when entering on a bicycle.
