• San Juan de Gaztelugatxe - As “winter is here,” the journey will take us westward after a morning pick-up from accommodations in San Sebastian to the stunning San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. This breathtaking site, featured in “Game of Thrones Season 7,” is located approximately 35 km from Bilbao, just off the coast in the Bay of Biscay.

Upon arrival, there will be a chance to stretch and take in the impressive views of the islet of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe from its lookout point. Surrounded by turbulent seas and a rugged coastline, the islet is crowned by an ancient hermitage dedicated to John the Baptist.

The group will then descend to sea level on foot to explore the remarkable double-arch stone bridge, famously walked by Jon Snow and Daenerys in “Game of Thrones Season 7.” Following in their footsteps, the group will hike the 241 steps of the winding footbridge that connects the mainland to the islet, reaching the magnificent hermitage of San Juan de Gaztelugatxe. Here, as legend suggests, participants can ring the bell three times and make a wish. After capturing photos and enjoying the breathtaking views from the top, the group will descend from the hermitage and return to the mainland to relax with a well-deserved beer or wine and a complimentary pintxo.

Note: The hike to the hermitage and back takes about an hour and a half and is somewhat steep; comfortable clothing and shoes are recommended.

• Playa de Itzurun - Returning to the vehicle, the journey continues towards the shores of Westeros and the entrance to Dragonstone Castle by heading eastward to Zumaia, Basque Country.

Known as “The Flysch,” the group will admire the spectacular coastline of the Province of Gipuzkoa and descend to the renowned beach where Jon Snow first meets The Mother of Dragons. Here, the dramatic jagged cliffs and rock formations can be contemplated.
