- Church of the Nativity - From Jerusalem, we embark on a short trip to Bethlehem, the birthplace of Jesus Christ. Our visit takes us to Manger Square, surrounded by the Mosque of Omar, the Palestinian Peace Center, and the Church of the Nativity, known as the oldest continuously operating church in the world. Constructed in the 4th century and expanded in the 6th century, some of its original mosaic flooring still remains.
Entering the Basilica of the Nativity, we pass through a low doorway called the “Door of Humility.” Inside, golden mosaics adorn the walls, and 30 of the 44 pink limestone columns in the nave are decorated by the Crusaders. Beneath the church lies a grotto with a Latin inscription stating, “Here Jesus Christ was born to the Virgin Mary.” The church also houses the Chapel of the Manger and the Altar of the Adoration of the Magi (the Three Wise Men).

Milk Grotto - This serene chapel is located near the Church of the Nativity in Manger Square. According to tradition, while Mary was nursing Jesus, a few drops of milk fell to the ground, turning the rocks white. The church is believed to be the refuge of Joseph, Mary, and Jesus before their escape to Egypt.
The grotto’s name comes from the belief that a drop of Mary’s milk turned the cave’s ground white. The milky white rock inside the grotto is thought to have magical properties. For centuries, childless women of various faiths have made pilgrimages to the Milk Grotto to pray for the gift of a child. Some pilgrims take the stone powder with them to give to those who cannot conceive. - Old City of Jerusalem - Four Quarters: Christian, Armenian, Jewish, and Muslim. Mount Zion. Last Supper.
