Betty’s Bay is a small coastal town located in the Western Cape province of South Africa. It is home to a colony of African Penguins, also known as Jackass Penguins, which are the only penguin species found on the African continent.
Betty’s Bay is also known as Stony Point Penguin Colony. There is a huge population of the African Penguin. The penguins can be seen up close as they waddle around, swim in the nearby ocean, and nest in the shelter of the surrounding vegetation.
Hermanus - From Betty’s Bay we travel another 30 minutes to Hermanus, the whale watching capital of the world. Hermanus is one of the most beautiful coastal towns. Here we take a tour of the town.
Hermanus is a seaside town in the Western Cape province of South Africa, known for its stunning natural beauty, whale watching, and charming small-town atmosphere.
Hermanus is known as one of the best places in the world for land-based whale watching. Southern right whales visit the town’s shores from June to December each year, and visitors can see these majestic creatures from the cliffs and beaches in and around the town.
Knysna - From Hermanus we continue to Swellendam, then further to Mossel Bay and Wilderness before we finally reach Knysna where we spend the 2 nights.
