Highlights
  • Karakoy - Karakoy is a bustling neighborhood that was once the industrial heart of the city. As you wander through the narrow streets, you can still see remnants of its industrial past in the form of old warehouses and factories. But today, Karakoy is also home to trendy cafes, boutiques, and restaurants, making it the perfect place to begin our food tour.
  • Karakoy Rihtim - The journey from the European side of Istanbul to Kadikoy takes around 20 minutes by ferry, but it feels like stepping into a different world. As you leave behind the iconic sights of the historic peninsula, such as the Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia, and sail across the shimmering waters of the Bosphorus, you are greeted by the sight of minarets and modern skyscrapers rising up from the hills of Kadikoy. Ferry ride is included with the tour price.
  • Kadikoy Carsisi - The Asian side of the food market is a bustling and vibrant place, filled with a wide array of flavors and dishes that are sure to tantalize the taste buds of even the most discerning foodie. From savory street food stalls to upscale restaurants, there is something for everyone in this diverse and eclectic culinary landscape. We will sample lots of local tastes
  • Kadikoy Iskelesi - After we finish our food tour with a local desert, our guide will take you back to the ferry that takes you back to the starting point of the tour. The tour was truly a culinary delight, allowing us to sample some of the most delicious and authentic dishes that the region has to offer. From savory kebabs to sweet pastries, we experienced a true feast for the senses.

Worth every penny! - Cumali was an amazing guide and the tour was a highlight of my trip! We had a small group (myself a family of three) which was a perfect size. Pickup at the meeting spot was easy and clear and Cumali carried an easy to spot umbrella so we never got lost in the crowds. Our tour crossed the two continents and featured restaurants and food carts I never would have found myself. A great way to spend my last night in the city!

Great introduction to Istanbul - This was our first day in Istanbul. It is HUGE - so it was so nice to get a lay of the land from Cumali. He was super informative and very fun. I highly recommend this tour and Cumali. - you won't regret it. Oh - and do not eat before you go - there is a lot of food!

Unique eats with friendly guide! - Atahan was a great host! Very knowledgeable about Turkish food & history. We had a really nice time talking to him - felt like we were hanging out with a friend by the end. He also helped us get Tram tickets and which line to take.

Maybe the best food tour we've taken (of 10) - Burak was an incredible guide. Street foods, great variety, introduction to the lifestyle of Turkish commuters, background on the dishes, advice on using the ferries, plus much info about life in Istanbul, Turkish culture, and more.

Great Food Tour - My friend and I booked the private food tour so we could move at our own pace without holding up a group. We really enjoyed the tour. We had a great variety of food. We enjoyed seeing the Asian side of Istanbul with a guide and trying everything from a lettuce wrap (great start on European side) to fish to pickle juice to great baclava.

BOOK THIS FOOD TOUR - Salih was the absolute best tour guide I’ve ever come across. He was super knowledgeable and friendly and took us to some amazing off the radar local food places. We had been in Istanbul for a few days before this food tour and felt that we ate the same things almost every time so Salih did a fantastic job showing us some awesome new choices! Would definitely recommend.
