Udaygiri caves - Udaygiri caves are very beautiful. Easily accessible. There is a little to climb over small hillocks. There is a ramp as well as stairs. But not recommended for people in wheelchairs or with a bad back. The guide Mr. Pradhan did a fine job explaining the history and special nuisances of the place. We did not go to the temple opposite the caves. Too many steps to climb.

A "Must See" Indian Heritage of Jain Era Gumpha ( Caves) - Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves are situated near Bhubaneshwar, Odisha having historical importance of Jain Era and are set of 18 and 15 caves in two adjacent hills called Uday giri ( Sunrise Hill/Kumari Parvata) and Khand giri ( Partially divided Hill of Kumari Parvata), partial natural and partial artificial which believed that most of these caves were carved out as residential blocks for Jain monks during the reign of King Kharavela. A good place to spent some time with History and nature. Beware of monkeys and mind your steps, take care of elders and physically challenged ones . The Archaeological Survey of India (ASI) has listed that Udayagiri and Khandagiri Caves in the list of "Must See" Indian Heritage. Enjoy...
