Thimphu - The 5 Night and 6 Day Bhutan tour starts with a beautiful flight from respective countries and towns to Paro Bhutan International Airport. When you arrive at Paro International Airport (Bhutan’s only international airport), a Trekking Planner representative will meet you with a traditional scarf. Then you will be driven from Paro to Thimphu (Bhutan’s capital city), which will take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on road conditions and stops along the way. The scenic route to Thimphu takes you through beautiful terrain, past terraced farms, ancient villages, and pine forests. When you arrive in Thimpu, check into your hotel and freshen up before embarking on your visit of the capital city.
Thimphu - With a quick welcome photo session, you will be driven from Paro to Thimphu (Bhutan’s capital city), which will take around 1.5 to 2 hours depending on road conditions and stops along the way. The scenic route to Thimphu takes you through beautiful terrain, past terraced farms, ancient villages, and pine forests. You can also view the Tachog Lhakhang bridge which spans over the Paro Chuu River during your drive towards Thimphu.
Later the official will help you to check into your hotel. Your luggage will be transferred to your room by the hotel staff so as the check-in completes you can rest in your room. If you feel hungry you can have lunch at your place of interest or the recommended place of the representative.
In the evening our representative will give a detailed briefing about how the tour is going to be carried out. All your questions, inquiries, and doubts will be answered. Once the meeting concludes, you can have dinner at the hotel in Thimphu. then pack for the next day.
Full Day in Thimpu with local Sightseeing.
Thimphu - After breakfast, visit Buddha Dordenma, a massive bronze statue of Buddha Shakyamuni located atop a hill that offers incredible views of Thimphu valley. You will also explore the Changangkha Lhakhang, an ancient temple that offers blessings to newborn babies.
Proceed to the Motithang Takin Preserve to see Bhutan’s national animal, the Takin, a rare Himalayan mammal. Explore the Royal Textile Academy where you can learn about hand-woven fabrics. Visit the Simply Bhutan Museum to learn about traditional culture, customs, and way of life. Option to dress in traditional Bhutanese attire. Dine at a traditional Bhutanese restaurant in Thimphu.
At afternoon, visit Tashichho Dzong, the seat of the Bhutanese government and the monastic body made great architecture.
After exploring the city, time to relax. If you want to learn more about Bhutanese culture, visit the Craft Bazaar, where local artisans and craftsmen sell their handmade goods such as traditional crafts, textiles, and souvenirs.
Drive from Thimphu to Punakha (75 Km, 3 Hours)/ Wangdue.
Punakha - After breakfast, Begin your gorgeous trip from Thimphu to Punakha, which takes about 3 hours and covers roughly 75 kilometres. The route winds through picturesque scenery, with views of terraced farms, charming villages, and green hills. Cross the Dochula cross, which is 3,100 metres (10,170 ft) above sea level. During clear days, views of panoramic Himalayan mountain ranges, with snow-capped summits.
After arriving in Punakha, visit Punakha Dzong, one of Bhutan’s most magnificent and historically significant dzongs. The dzong is located at the confluence of the Pho Chhu (father) and Mo Chhu (mother) rivers and serves as a religious and administrative centre. Meal at a local restaurant in Punakha.
After exploring Punakha, head to Wangdue Phodrang, a neighbouring valley only a short drive away.
Wangdue Phodrang Dzong, a magnificent stronghold perched on a ridge overlooking the confluence of two rivers. A fire damaged the dzong in 2012, and restoration efforts may still be ongoing
Drive from Punakha - Paro (125 Km, 4 Hours).
Paro - On day 4, you will explore the gorgeous before returning to Paro. After breakfast at the hotel, you will be transported to the Punakha Suspension Bridge, one of Bhutan’s longest suspension bridges. Then you’ll go to Chimi Lhakhang, popularly known as the “Temple of Fertility.” Following a brief sightseeing tour, you will dine at a local restaurant in Punakha on a traditional Bhutanese meal. Then you’ll be taken back to Paro, which takes about 3-4 hours.
When you arrive in Paro, check into your hotel and spend some time relaxing and refreshing. If you have time, you can explore some of Paro’s attractions, such as the local markets, or take a stroll through the town. Staying overnight at hotel.
Full day sightseeing in Paro.
Paro - After breakfast at your Paro hotel. Visit Paro Rinpung Dzong, a spectacular fortress-monastery that serves as the administrative and religious core of the village. Explore the complex design and learn about the dzong’s fascinating history. Visit the Ta Dzong, a watchtower converted into the National Museum of Bhutan. Learn about Bhutanese culture and history by exploring the museum’s large collection of antiquities, traditional art, religious relics, and historical treasures.
After lunch, go to Kyichu Lhakhang, one of Bhutan’s oldest sacred temples. This 7th-century temple is historically and theologically significant. Visit nearby farmhouse to get a taste of rural Bhutanese life. Engage with the friendly locals, learn about their daily lives, and enjoy some traditional Bhutanese hospitality. You will have some free time in the late afternoon to explore Paro on your own. You can visit local markets, seek for souvenirs, or simply rest in the tranquil setting.
Departure from Paro.
Paro International Airport - This will be your last day on 5 nights 6 days Bhutan Tour with Trekking Planner. Our company representative will pick you up from the hotel lobby and take you on a drive towards the Paro International Airport. You will have to reach the airport at least three hours earlier. Once you reach the airport our team member will help you with the logistics and boarding. Once you board the plane towards your destination your trip with Trekking Planner comes to an end.
