SERENGETI | SERENGETI SAFARI LODGE or SERENGETI WILDEBEEST CAMP

Also, you can visit Olduvai Gorge (at your own cost), known as the Cradle of Humanity. This Museum is a testament to the long journey that humanity has made from its humble roots in East Africa to its current state as the dominant species on Earth. Enjoy a game drive en route to your camp.

Serengeti National Park - Enjoy a full day of game drives in the Serengeti – unequaled for its beauty and home to the Great Wildebeest Migration. The huge herds of plains game, such as wildebeest, zebra, and antelope, dominate the park, while the attendant predators, such as lion and cheetah, are to be found amongst the many kopjes scattered across the plain. Its landscape varies from open grass plains in the south, savanna with scattered acacia trees in the center, hilly, wooded grassland in the north, to extensive woodland and black clay plains to the west.

The crater is 600m deep, 16km across, and 265 sq km in area. Enjoy the spectacular scenery and game viewing in what has been described as the world’s eighth wonder.
Many of Tanzania’s last remaining black rhinos can be seen grazing on the open grassland of the crater floor, surrounded by some of the 20,000 large animals that occupy the crater, including lion, cheetah, eland, zebra, and gazelle. Flamingos, among other bird species, can often be seen feeding at Makat Soda Lake. Afternoon drive to your lodge for your overnight stay.

Set against the steep escarpment of the Rift Valley, you’ll find Lake Manyara National Park with its evergreen groundwater forest and various ecosystems, including acacia woodland, grassy plains, a swampy fan delta, and – of course – the expansive lake. This diversity attracts various mammal, bird, and wildlife species. Manyara is also home to rare tree-climbing lions. The park offers excellent game viewing with buffalo, impala, giraffe, bushbuck, waterbuck, hippos, and many elephants roaming near the lake. Also, look out for blue monkeys, velvet monkeys, and very active olive baboons.

Memories for a lifetime! - This was the trip of a lifetime. Our guide, Moody, was so knowledgeable and had a great sense of humor. We saw more than we ever imagined and left no rock unturned. Highly recommend!

Incredible experience that we will remember for a lifetime - The last 5 days have been incredible. We expected to see the Big 5 but our expectations have been far exceeded. We were able to get face to face with the wild animals of Tanzania. From Lion families with cubs in the Serengeti to large Zebra and Wildebeest groups in the Ngorongoro Preserve, from an Elephant mum protecting her newborn at Lake Manyara to Giraffes drinking at Tarangire. Our tour guide Issa made the experience beyond amazing. He was very knowledgeable and knew everything about the flora and fauna. You can definitely tell that he loves his job and the wilderness of Tanzania. The accomodation and food was great and we enjoyed our stays at the different camps. For the Serengeti camp we advice to being some warm clothes as it can get quite cold during the night. We combined the trip with a balloon safari which was a memorable experience. To see the sun rising over the neverending plains of the Serengeti was truly special. Unfortunately the Great Migration had already passed this part of the Serengeti which is why we could not spot a large amount of animals from the sky but a Cheeta family with her three cubs and tall Giraffes having their breakfast definitely made up for it. Overall an amazing experience which we would recommend to everyone.

Unforgettable tour - Good communication with Sally for the booking. She was really lovely and made the booking process really easy. World tour adventures were very accommodating when I potentially needing picking up from a town, and they organised my transfer to the airport the next day with ease. Had Muddy as my tour guide, he was lovely! Very knowledgeable, chilled and just had a good vibe. The places that were organised for us to stay in were great, my favorite was the serengeti Lodge. It was phenomenal! I couldve stayed there for another week. Only downside was that I thought I had the hot air balloon included as it said it was included in my itinerary but i think i was sent the wrong itinerary. Also it was stated that lake manyara was going to be an afternoon drive but we had a morning drive and an afternoon finish, but these are just minor things. Thanks to world tour adventures I was able to see the big 5! It was such an amazing trip and exceeded all expectations so I would definitely book more trips with them again and would highly recommend them. Thank you again!

Tantalizing Tanzania - What a fabulous trip that World Adventure Tours helped us plan for our wonderful exploration of Tanzania. I first saw the Wildebeest Calving and Great Migration tour options and then they helped us build on from there to customize a truly comprehensive tour of most of the gems Tanzania tourism has to offer. We started out by adding a day of extra sightseeing close to the airport, just in case our plane was delayed. Luckily we did arrive on time to swim in the the awesome Chemka Hot springs, participate in the full Coffee Experience which was so fun in Moshi and hike to the lovely Materuni Falls. Victor, our guide, and Godlove, our driver were both excellent as they navigated the rutted roads, and explained so much to us about what we got to see. We were taken to one of the local markets and experienced the many sights and scents of Tanzania's produce, meats, and yes, even clothing and shoes shipped from people in the US. Humbling. Next, World Adventure Tours suggested staying at the Original Maasai Lodge to immerse ourselves in their culture. That was an incredible place, and we got to learn so much about the Maasai and truly enjoyed the coffee massage, the hike and visit to an actual family "Boma" and learning about the spear throwing, dancing, jumping and BBQ. We also got to visit the local school, which was wonderful for me as a former first grade teacher. Then our seven day Safari began with our excellent and new best friend, Israel, as our driver and guide. Each day was different, each one showing us new areas and experiences. We got to see the forested, hilly Lake Manyara, with all its wildlife, very enjoyable! Then three glorious days in the Serengeti, the endless plain, seeing so much wildlife in so many situations. Highlights included ten lions feasting on a water buffalo, many birds of prey feasting on a zebra, and spotting elephants and giraffes from high above in a lovely hot air balloon ride! Staying two glorious nights at Serengeti Wild Camp, greeted so warmly and treated so well, and enjoying our glamorous tents, a nice campfire, and lovely sunsets. The box lunches on safari were fun too, on a lovely tablecloth, sometimes spread on the hood of the land rover, under an acacia tree, next to Wildebeests! Next, we stayed two nights at the beautiful Ngorogoro Wild Camp, way off the beaten path, but so nice when we finally arrived! Again, beautiful sunsets, awesome, huge tents, great food. Had fun sharing my favorite Serengeti Moon song, by Dan Fogelberg, with the staff there, who went out of their way to learn the lyrics for us the next night! The day in-between, we did have to drive a few hours back toward Serengeti to reach the Ndutu area to see the Great Migration. Wow! We weren't sure we wanted to make that drive back, after seeing so many wildebeest, zebra and gazelles the days before in the Serengeti, but we are so glad Israel talked us into it. He said we MUST GO, that we'd see millions! So we took his word for it and agreed to make the long drive back and were so glad we did! Ndutu was amazing! We did see thousands of the migration animals, surrounding our vehicle, just everywhere you looked! We also got to see them crossing rivers, which was new for us, and even saw a pair of cheetahs there. We did see lots of baby animals, but hadn't yet spotted a wildebeest calf, but lo and behold, suddenly one appeared, just minutes old, the umbilical cord still hanging down! How cool was that? The last day, we got to go inside Ngorogoro Crater, and it was the most beautiful garden of eden! Water, a layer of fog, pond plants, layers of birds, flamingos, elephants all in one photo, just gorgeous! More lions, zebras, giraffes, elephants, water buffalo, rhinos, cranes, and on and on. What a great last day! We can't say enough about Israel, our trusty guide and driver, from Zara Tours, always managing to navigate through the very challenging roads in Tanzania, with ruts, rivers, mud to get through, but we always knew we were in good hands. He was so kind and friendly too, we actually were a bit choked up as we said our goodbyes. It's been so nice getting texts from him afterwards making sure we made it to our next destinations safely. The people of Tanzania were so grateful for the tourists, as it is their main livelyhood. We always felt so very welcome! One last thing I'll say that we really appreciated was that this was a private tour, we had the whole vehicle to ourselves, never having to fight other passengers to get the best photos of whatever animals were spotted on that side, and never afraid to ask Israel to stop again for pictures, when we didn't have to worry about what other guests would think. We saw many other vehicles full of people, and were so grateful. Also, when the hot sun was burning my arm on one side of the jeep, I just moved over to an empty seat! We did miss sitting with others at dinner though, but still managed to share stories of the day with other guests around the campfires or at Sundowners. That was always nicely done at the two other hotels we stayed at too. We added on a few days in Zanzibar at the end of our trip, and it was almost a culture shock to be in a fancy beach resort after the simpler safari areas and towns. Kendwa Rocks was very nice though, with lovely shaded beach areas, and a great spa. We lucked out with getting one of the rooms that had its own private whirlpool in front, heavenly! Crazy boat ride to see dolphins, starfish, snorkel and eat fruit on a sandbar in the very warm Indian Ocean, quite risky to us, but still fun! Loved seeing the Colobus monkeys, touring a spice farm and doing the walking tour of ancient Stone Town. A great way to end our time in Africa. We went to Africa to see the wildlife, and we did, in all its glory, but it was the people and learning about their culture, and how they live such basic lives, but appear so happy, that is our main take-away. We spent time in South Africa, Tanzania and Uganda, with a bit in Zimbabwe and Kenya. All different, all worth seeing! It was truly a humbling and memorable experience, one we'll never forget!

Big 5 - This company offers, among other things, Safari trips in Tanzania. Sally, who helped me book the trip, did everything to make it suitable for me. An experience out of the ordinary. Wonderful arrangement of safari in good safari jeeps. I had a very nice guide/driver named Mohammed. Good accommodation throughout the safari trip. Truly luxurious. A plus on the edge is that they give a lot back to society, for example to schools.

Absolutely incredible! - I've never done a safari, and I didn't have a lot of time to plan my trip, given my circumstances. I wasn't sure what to expect from this tour. But it was absolutely amazing! My guide was THE BEST! He made note of what each of us was interested in and made efforts to give each of us time with what those interests were. He also had an incredible eye for spotting wildlife, including what other guides missed. I only wish we had had time during meals to chat with him and get to know him better. Purity, my point of contact, was very responsive and happy to meet my needs. The hotel lodgings were comfortable, if not incredible (oh my gosh that Serengeti Safari Lodge!!). Honestly, I'm amazed at what all we got for the cost of the trip -- it was certainly worth every penny. Highly recommended!

Fully met expectations - Overall this was an excellent tour and Safari experience that fully met my expectations. I went solo, and was teamed up with one other person. World Adventure Tours / Zara Tours seamlessly organized a knowledgeable guide (Issa) and accommodation at the Zara properties: the Safari lodges and the Highview Hotel. The accommodations were pretty good (not amazing), very comfortable although not "luxury". The food was mostly good, although the lunch boxes were very mediocre. Accommodations & food overall were a 4 out of 5. The guide Issa went above and beyond to give us the best possible safari experience. You will sleep and eat comfortably and see the Big 5 up close. Guide was 5 out of 5 The tour organizer, Joyce Gitumbi, and Jane from the Springlands hotel, was helpful in arranging the logistics and collecting payment. The highlight was the Serengeti National Park. It will blow your mind!

Safari - Chose this company partly because it is Swedish and partly because they give back to the area, such as schools, to girls etc. A pleasant experience with fantastic service. Everything from booking to the safari itself. Nice accommodation. Had my own guide during the Safari, Mohammed, very nice, helpful and knowledgeable. Felt well taken care of throughout the trip Seen so many of the wild animals. Took so many pictures and Mohammed always looked for the best spot

Tanzania is so beautiful - We love Tanzania's rich diversity of wild animals in the parks, beautiful landscapes. rich culture and beautiful people. We returned on a luxury safari with WAT and it was even better than we expected. We immediately clicked with our guide Manfot, he is charming, intelligent and knowledgeable. His driving skills are also very impressive, and we felt safe in his hands. The parks were amazing that we could not get enough of the adventure. The hotels and lodges were top of the line. All serving great food and wonderful amenities that made one forget they were in the bush. Amazing!!

Don’t believe what they verbally tell you. Stay clear! Buyer beware - Not trustworthy. Don’t believe a thing they say. Felt like I was scammed. Was verbally told trip could be postponed without penalty. Not true. Not trustworthy at all.
