Loved this tour!! - Having been to Kona several times, we wanted to experience something new. So glad we took this tour. Our guide was very informative about the abalone farming process. We got to hold abalone & other sea creatures, and even got to taste abalone. So interesting & something different to do. We highly recommend this tour.

Amazing! Just go! - This was a great tour and we learned so much about abalone and seaweed. Diane is so knowledgeable and personable and made the tour thoroughly enjoyable. We were early so we went down and explored the nearby beach until the tour started which was also a lot of fun. Got to hold a lot of sea creatures including abalone, sea cucumber, two types of sea urchin, and brittle starfish. And at the end of the tour you get to taste canned and grilled abalone, seaweed, and sea grapes. We highly recommend this tour.

Learn something new - We thoroughly enjoyed this tour. We unexpectedly learned so much about abalone( we come from New Zealand where abalone or paua as we call it; is still gathered on our seashore). The guide was excellent. The farm is ecologically sustainable. Highly recommend

Livin the Abalone Life - 2nd visit to the Farm, enjoyed it very much! Tour Guide Diane was so informative and friendly. She took us on a journey of the life cycle of the abalone.... how they grow, what food is generated on premises for the abalone.... so amazing! Our 1st tour was with Carlos and he was equally as informative as Diane. Both, a tour well done!

Fun and unique must do! - We had an amazing time at the farm! As a resident of Kona and always passing by, I have never been but decided to visit the farm since my parents are here visiting. Diana was so knowledgeable and kind. She was energetic and you could tell she loves her job. After the tour we went to the food truck and had the abalone poké which was delicious! I will definitely be back for this unique and delicious experience! Thank you!

Very educational tour - Very interesting tour. It's not a huge operation and provides an enormous amount of product that is labor intensive and quite a long process--thus the high cost. Surprised to learn the farm ships their product to Washington State for canning. Highly recommend for the family with older children since it's pretty educational. Did not partake in the food truck, but it did look ono!

Abalone Tour: An Absolute Experience - Carlos did a wonderful job of educating our group about the process of raising the abalone to the age of maturity to being harvested. There is a real science to the process. At the end of the tour, there is a taste test of the abalone and you get to keep the beautiful shell. There is a food truck on the property that serves delicious/unique abalone poke and sushi dishes. We highly recommend this tour as it was one of our favorite tours/activities on the island.
