Compact quality experience of Hawai'i - Dave was very knowledgeable and entertaining. It's a long day but possibly the best use of time to obtain a broad feel of Big Island culture and geography. One could easily spend three days or more doing this oneself. Highly recommended.

Great tour, would reccomend! - We really enjoyed this tour! Our guide Kerry was super knowledgeable about the island and it's history, and many other things besides (this guy's memory is nuts, I have no idea how he keeps all these dates and names and places in his head!) They picked us up very close to where we were staying in Kona, then we went to a coffee farm; didn't have a real tour but it was interesting to see what we did see. We also got to try a bunch of coffees that were very good. He provided us with snacks at this point (granola bars, nuts, etc.) Next we went to a bakery which was meh, I have celiac and they didn't have anything gluten free so I got a protein bar, but my husband said the breakfast sandwich and donut were really good. Then we went to the black sand beach and saw some turtles, the beach was stunning and so unique, it was v cool. Then we went to a winery and tried some wines and got a glass; they were all quite delicious (especially the tea wine!). Next we went to volcano national park and the volcano house for lunch, which was surprisingly delish (I got the kaluha pork, v good with the fresh pineapple). The crater is insane, with lava rock everywhere and steam vents. The scale is just massive and it was so cool to see in person. The lava tube's were amazing, covered in moss and ferns on the outside and inside it's lit up with orange lights, very eerie and fun to go through. It was a nice little hike through the jungle to get to them which was fun too. Then we went and got a better view of the crater, and visited some steam vents, fascinating stuff; our earth is just so wild! After that we drove to Hilo and went to a bakery/candy store which again was meh. The outdoorsy parts of this tour were fantastic, but some of the stops just felt like they wanted us to spend money and shop, which I wasn't really interested in. The place was packed with tour busses too so it seems like all the tours kind of have this same idea. After that we went to check out a waterfall which was kinda neat, the vegetation and trees in the area were very diverse and interesting. Then we drove over Saddle rd. and back to Kona and saw some breathtaking views of the mountains and sunset along the way. A long day, but a day well spent. I'm so glad we did it! Yes it's pricey, but it was really relaxing and lovely to not have to drive or find parking or organize anything ourselves. Felt very luxurious to be ferried around and given snacks and drinks and cold towels in the heat. I would definitely reccomend if you've never been to the big island before and want a taste of all the major attractions.

Great experience! - Kawika was an awesome tour guide. He was fun, informative, and professional, with a great style that made it the best shore excursion we had. The tour vehicle was comfortable, and Kawika checked at every stop to make sure nobody needed refreshments. The provided refreshments and lunch were great! Kawika had an awesome story about every place he took us, and great stories in between.

Kerry was amazing - Kerry (Kerri?) was an amazing tour guide and I hope I didn't butcher his name. I have to say this tour was one of the biggest highlights of my whole trip to the big island. I knew this tour would be amazing within the first 30 minutes when we drove down the highway (the same highway I had driven down the previous 3 days) and Kerry provided so much detail that changed my view. Kerry was amazing and I highly recommend this tour to anyone (Even if you are familiar with the island as Kerry is just that good).

Great Day in Hawaii - It was a great start, as a nice Mercedes Van show up and I knew this going to be a better 7-hour drive. Our guide was fantastic, and his knowledge was off the chart. David new the Island so well, as he lived on the island for over 35 years. You can drive yourself but having someone like David explaining everything and knowing where to go made it all worthwhile. Needless to say, I highly recommend this company and trip.

Worth it! - The tour was great, we had little time on the island and made the most of it with this tour. Dave C was a great guide and strived to tell us as much information as possible everywhere we went. It was definitely worth it to take a tour with such a small group; made the whole day much more fun and enjoyable for us and for our child. Food/drink/stops were good and well timed, also important with kids! Very comfortable van.

Around the BI in one day. - Our guide, Dave C. is extremely knowledgeable and very personable. The transportation is very comfortable and was able to accommodate a person using a scooter. The trip included stops at a coffee farm, bakery, black sand beach (saw sea turtles), national park (several stops including the rim of a volcano), a delicious bento lunch at the Volcano House, rainbow falls and HI candy store in Hilo. Pick up and drop off at resort was included along with snacks, beverages, lavender scented hand towels and ample restroom stops. I've been in Hawaii for two weeks and Dave C. was by far the best guide! I highly recommend this tour.
