Excellent Guide - We had an excellent guide named Michael who had a wealth of knowledge to share about the volcanoes, history, and many sites along the way. Highly recommended this excursion!

Island Style Exploring - Like every private tour like this, the experience is as much about what you want to experience as it is what is described. Our guide Dramma took us into a lava tube, helped us check out Rainbow Falls, took us on a walk into the barren and amazing 2018 eruption field and up to the rim of Fissure 8 that was the source of all that destruction and beauty. We also wandered down beautiful Banyan Drive and into Liliuokalani Gardens, browsed some Hilo shops, bought local fruits in the Hilo farmers market, and grabbed a coffee in peaceful Pahoa. We opted not to drive into the volcano national park, as fissure 8 was a lot more interested and accessible. Dramma had a truly Hilo / Hawaiian vibe - spiritual, down to earth, and deeply versed in the people, lore, history and natural beauty of the island. A fun and informative day!

An Amazing Day! - What a great day with Dramma. She picked us up right next to cruise ship, gave great contact info for any questions, etc. She took us to great spots for waterfalls, the town for shops/chocolate/coffee and then a great time at the volcano park. We went through the lava tubes, saw the steam vents and perfect views of the volcano. She knows the exact spot for the perfect picture. Our best day of our vacation!

Tour of HILO - We enjoyed this tour as this was a private tour. We changed the schedule with the driver as we didn’t want to stay for hours in the same spot. The driver was a young woman who was informative about the area and showed us a part of the Volcano area where hardly anyone comes, which was very special to see. She recommended a nice restaurant for lunch which we enjoyed. The reason we didn’t give this 5 stars as we advise this young driver to dress more appropriate and her hygiene needs improved. For the money we spend which was over $800 you should expect a more decent vehicle and someone who takes better care of themselves. Aside from that she is a pleasant young woman who gave interesting information. It was a successful day. We can recommend the tour. The rainfall waterfalls are special and we stopped at the black sand beach with beautiful blue, clear water. The volcano site is amazing to see and worthwhile to go to.
