Best shore excursion tour EVER!!! - From the moment Anthony and Desmond picked us up from the cruise port, we were entertained, educated, and taken care of like we were truly ohana (family). We booked this as a shore excursion the day before we arrived in Hilo and by the sounds of it, we had a way better (and less expensive) outing than those that did the ship excursions. We visited Rainbow Falls, Hawaii Volcanoes National Park (lava tube and crater rim), a black sand beach (we saw some rare hawksbill sea turtles!), and ate amazing food. Everything was included and we truly just got to sit back, listen, and interact without a care. Anthony and Desmond went above and beyond every chance they could for us. From the fresh fruit at the end of the day to making sure I got an ornament (travel tradition of mine) - they had our back. Plus the stories, history, and amazing artifacts they show in the van between stops - chefs kiss. Perfection. They dropped us off right at the port with plenty of time as to not to have to rush onto the ship. Can’t wait to come back someday and see what else they can show me!

Hilo, Kilauea volcano tour. - This was a great experience, we just missed the eruption by about 30 minutes. Loved the lava tube, great tour group.

Volcanos, Rainbow Falls and Sea Turtle Tour - Great immersive tour of Hilo, the Volcano National Park, Rainbow Falls and an amazing black sand beach where several sea turtles joined us. We especially enjoyed seeing the steaming craters and hearing that they could erupt at any time! Lunch at the Lava Rock was an added treat as well.
Kudos to Anthony who narrated every step of the trip with great detailed knowledge and Desmond who drove the van for some lengthy rides and accompanied us on our hike to the Lava Cave (another really cool experience!). He also pointed out the healing qualities of numerous plants and berries that aren't at your neighborhood drug store.
Great tour, left feeling happily educated and wowed!

A Day in Hilo - This guided tour in a twelve person van was very informational. We were picked up and dropped off right at the cruise port. There were two knowledgeable guides, one driving and the other narrating. They shared a wealth of information about the areas we drove through with interesting facts about the history, culture and landscape. The narration was supplemented with pictures to view and artifacts that were passed around. An appropriate amount of time was spent at the different stops which included beautiful Rainbow Falls, a black sand beach and the amazing Volcano National Park. We saw turtles at the black sand beach. The tour also drove through Lili'uokalani Gardens. This tour included a relaxing lunch stop. We learned a lot and enjoyed this comfortable cruise.
