Additional Information
Join us for an immersive farm-to-table experience, guided by a community member who’s deeply passionate about farming and its bounties. On our farm, you’ll find over 30 varieties of produce, and we’ll harvest fresh ingredients together to prepare our meal. Whatever’s in season, we’ll pick and cook! Post-harvest, we will retreat to the loft of our beautifully furnished barn to cook our meal while basking in the splendid views of Hilo Bay and Mauna Kea.

Please check-in at the Kulaniapia Falls office, located at 100 Kulaniapia Dr, 30 minutes before your class starts. We will take care of your paperwork, and direct you to our farm, where your class will start.

If you're thinking about it, do it! - This was an awesome experience! I chose this for a friend date and it did not disappoint. The food was delicious, the guides were so personable, knowledgeable, and overall just awesome women. 10/10 would do it again!

very informative, interactive, and scrumptious. - Very interesting learning about all the plants and the staff were super awesome.! Got to try all sorts of different veggies, fruit, and plants and the actually food from the cooking class was very good.

Wonderful time on the farm - Absolutely wonderful morning touring the farm and making a delicious meal with the Kulaniapia Community! Going through the process of taking ingredients strait from the ground and following the entire process makes you appreciate a meal so much more. Aiden and David also do a great job and really help add to the experience

Great tour with fun!!! - Adrian was a blast from meeting us through the end. Totally different fun experience from collecting the eggs to hand selecting all the veggies from the farm. Returned to the “barn” and prepared the full meal from scratch. Lots of fellowship and entertaining. Well worth the price.

Great Experience! - Had a fantastic time with a chef who was very knowledgable about the farm. The location is beautiful and we were able to see the waterfall before and after the lunch. Would recommend for anyone in Hilo. I think we were fortunate we had a great person leading us through the event but the people there rotate quite often so this may change. But it was a fantastic experience!

Awesome day - Eshan, our guide, was amazing. His creative energy for how to use the vegetables grown at the farm for cooking is really amazing. We had a great time. Would do it again.

Enjoyable unique experience - The farm tour was very interesting and informative. It was fun getting to select fresh items from the farm to cook in the cooking class. Our guide Ayden was enthusiastic about all of it which made it enjoyable. We were able to participate in the cooking at each step and enjoyed the lunch we prepared. The small size of the group was also appreciated. Would definitely recommend this if you are looking for something different to experience.

Unique enjoyable experience - Enjoyed the farm tour and being able to select the fresh produce that we prepared in the cooking portion. Our tour guide Ayden was enthusiastic which made it enjoyable. It was a very unique experience.

Nice Experience, Not Worth the Price - I came with my family of 4 adults. We were the only party, just us and our tour guide. Our tour guide took us up to check out the chickens and the farm. It was kind of sparse of harvestable items, perhaps because of time of year. Our guide was very new to the farm and very new to hawaii. So, she didn’t have a lot of knowledge to offer about the property or the farming processes. We went up to the barn where there are more fruit trees to pick from outside and the kitchen is on the top floor. Some ingredients we used were not actually from the Kulaniapia Farm but from a farmers market the day before.
We made salsa, chips, tortillas, roasted vegetables, collard greens, and a limeade. Not gourmet by any stretch of the imagination, but a good humble kind of meal.
This experience was nice but definitely not worth the price.
