Considered the “piko” (center) of the majestic mountains of Haleakalā, Kohala, Mauna Kea, Mauna Loa and Hualālai, the Mauna Lani is a special place to all who have the privilege of enjoying its beauty. Traditionally, lūʻaus are important family celebrations with a feast of favorite foods, sharing of moʻolelo (story telling), mele (music) and hula. Hale Hoaloha Lūʻau brings together all of these while sharing Mauna Laniʻs majestic history and the true essence of aloha, ʻohana (family) and kuleana (responsibility) with everyone in attendance.

Upon arrival, guests are greeted with a customary Oli (chant) to set the mood for the preliminary interaction with the cast. After the activities, audience can witness the removal of the pig from traditional imu pit prepared for the Hawaiian buffet.
The event culminates with a showcase of traditional and contemporary Hula dances, accompanied by the dazzling Samoan Siva Afi (fire knife dance).
